Don't you remember? Those greedy back-stabbingpigs at Rare who made the DK Country series ran off and got in bed with Bill Gates because he flashed a wad o' cash at them and they ran off to make crappy Xbox games like:
Grabbed by the Ghoulies: Terrible
Conker: Live and Reloaded: a remake of the N64 game with a mulitplayer mode.
Perfect Dark Zero: Disappointing 360 launch title
Kameo:Elements of Power: Disappointing 360 title #2
Viva Pinata: A good game that no one played because God didn't intend for cute, cuddly games to be on the Xbox.
In the end, Rare signed a contract and the guys at Xbox, despite Rare's poor performace in either game quality or sales, have said they're not going to give them back. They bought Rare in hopes that their more "kid friendly" games would show people that the Xbox has more going for it than online first person shooters. They have plans to make a Viva Pinata kart racing game and a new Banjo-Kazooie for the 360.
As for a new DK Country, forget about it. I mean Nintendo could still make one with a new developer but it wouldn't be Rare. Don't feel too bad, due to the fact that Xbox has no handheld system, Rare can still make games for the DS like "Diddy Kong Racing." so there's always hope for DK Country on the DS at least.
Basically we'll never see another Donkey Kong Country, at least not one made by Rare. It's all Microsoft's fault. I had a lot more things to say reguarding this but the words I want to use would ban me from the forums.
