Geist was a very mixed bagif you ask me. The concept was immaculate but i think the dvelopment team was not well suited for it nor was the engine that kinda ruined the experience.

This game can be brought to stardom if they work on it right. If they really make use of the possesion tatics and make it seemless and not such a long animation to posses someone. Also the FPS should not just be a side element but a real part of the game.

Another thing would be to give the main character more of a personality and make him more cool.

Finally make a good multiplayer with a wide array of mode thats are fully online.

What do you think becaue I think this could be aswome and not yet another FPS but one with some new elemnts in the mix.

If Retro made Giest, i would probably buy it without question. They brought to life the 3D Metroid Primes (some of my favorite games ever) and i think anything they touch could be just gold!

Geist was okay, not great, but playable and I like some of it.Geist 2 would be a mix bag too only because the first game wasn't great. If they did make a part 2 there got to be good/great reviews for me to touch that thing ever again.

Off topic: I write a thread of Jeff getting firedtoplace it in the Nintendo part and BAM, seconds later it gets blocked. Gamespot is fast to block stuff! I guess they didn't want too many threads about it so the MOD told me to go see the off-topic thread instead.

If geast 2 did everythign right and fixed what was wrong with Geist 1, also fully used and revolutionized the possesion techniques then this game would be off the charts. Lackluster results of the first one wont drag down the second if it was done right.

Off Topic: Which one is Jeff again and why did he get fired?

Geist 1 is like Red Steel to me, it got some great concepts that worked right off the bat and other concepts that needs hard work on. I would give Geist 2 a chance if they work out the problems of the first game.

Off Topic: Jeff Gerstmann is believed to have been fired over his review for the game Kane and Lynch which he gave a 6.0, just go to gonintendo.com to read the story if you're interested.

I never had the chance to play the original Geist, so if a Retro-developed sequel was released, I'd definitely check it out.

See like Red Steel it lacked polish and seemed very rushed. But theoriginal concepts were golden. if both games were completely overhauled and got these conceptual ideas perfected and really fun then we have games that couldharken to AAA status.

Off topic: Wow thats really pathetic on GS part. Gameslike FE, which admittedly annoyed me, got a 6.0 while most reviewers saw it as an AA and no onecares. Kane and Lynch an absolutely terrible game gets what it deserves and amny reviewers agreed on it and GS is punishing their reviewers because of the money. GS iseven morepathetic to meif this story is true. They gave PD0 an AAA when itwas an 8.0 at best. Its like all their reviews depend on ho much the publishers are willing to give them. Thats why I go by IGN, an awsomesite with in depth reviews thatgive the bad games bad reviews and the good games good reviews, and Gamerankings because thebiased for and against reviews balance each other out.

n-space are rumoured to be making Geist 2 as they're already making '2 mature FPS titles' for Wii. I reckon Retro should make a fresh IP - I'm getting a bit tired of constant sequels. They're awesome, but c'mon, where's the variety?

Nintendo has not made a single great new IP this gen. And don't bring up the Wii Sports/Wii Fit crap - that's not character based or epic by any means. And don't bring up Mii's! You know what I mean.

Wii sports is awsome come on man.

Anway geist is untested and is like a new IP. If n-Space is still making it that sucks because they arent very skilled. if Nintendo bought it off them or already had the rights Retro would make an awsome game for this.

I would love it if Retro made Giest too instead of Nintendo Space. Retro defiently gets teh graphics down which is what Giest needs (GTA 3 looked better then Giest). Then they could put in some online and better sounds (the guns sounded like bubble wrap) and even some better voice acting and ghost control. (VA was okay and GC didn't seem to be a major part of the game).

But Retro likes the creature gore......they stated that they have gore involving humans. And remember the first mission?

If n-Space is doing Geist 2 it probably wont be that good. I just wish someone with more skill and dedication would fully utilize this genious idea.

Seriously why doesnt Nintendo push these western made nintendo games. The US is the best selling place for Wii why arent they capitilizing on this fact.
