Well the 3DS is a spectacular system. I love it so far and can't wait for what's coming. The 3DS I think has tons of potential and these are some things I would like to see improved or added on the 3DS.

1. A messaging system

A messaging system is almost necessary and would work great with the 3DS. I do like the improved 3DS online in which you only need one friend code, it has status and Mii's representing as a gamer's avatar. I like the improvements over the Wii and DS's online. The messaging system though is an obvious thing that I think Nintendo will include. I feel that the touch screen+built in microphone+stylus makes a unique way of sending messages and Nintendo did state they wanted to add a messaging system to the 3DS, so this is likely to appear via update.

2. Large 3D Movie marketplace

I love the 3D on the 3DS. I love 3D movies. Nintendo said they would add 3D movies to the 3DS it's just a matter of time, hopefully when they add 3D video recording. I want a large 3D movie base, and it being distrubuted easily. A 3D marketplace in the e-shop would be perfect, and even if they had certain 3D movies have digital copies available for the 3DS. I really think this will get people to be more interested if they put some focus on 3D movies. Even if it went the way of the PSP and sold 3D movies via Flash Cards I wouldn't mind. I would though like to see it being downloaded and put on the SD card, and since SD cards can go up to 32gb big, many movie fans will have plenty of room to fill up on with movies.

3. Constant Updates

I'm glad that Nintendo seems to be using bigger updates and seem to update the OS a lot. I would love to see constant updates, espeically if the 3DS plans to have a long life span like the DS. I like it because even dated hardware can have constant improvements and new things to accomodate the hardware. Things such as the new Xbox Live which added avatars, party chat and a brand new OS setup for xbox could really be nice for the 3DS, or the updates on smartphones like IOS4 and IOS5, Android 2.3 and 3.0, and Windows Phone 7.5 mango. These updates help make things not only add new features to the hardware to keep people interested and excited, but it fixes bugs and it improves speed and performance. This doesn't mean I want Nintendo to completely change the 3DS's OS every year, but I would like to see more durastic updates then what the Wii got. Things like possible additions of making music able to be played while doing this like viewing photos or browsing the web would be nice.

4. Indie Content

The Xbox 360 has some indie games, and the Iphone is filled with it. This doesn't mean I want the 3DS to have pointless apps and turn into an Ipod touch, I would just like to see some quality indy content. I think there will be tons of unique idea to do games on the 3DS with the 3D, Gyroscope and the touch screen.

Name some things you would like to see improved or come to the 3DS. I think the 3DS is excellent so far, but I know I for sure haven't covered everything. Post you thoughts.

Hmm... okay. In no particular order:

1 ) Move the stylus to the right hand side of the system (similar to the DS lite's)

2 ) Get rid of the region lock

3 ) Add flash to the internet browser

4 ) Improve the quality of the cameras

5 ) Improve the music playback interface

6 ) Let users buy games directly, instead of being stuck with unused points

7 ) If possible, improve the 3D viewing angle

8 ) Make it so the system doesn't scratch itself

9 ) Add the 3D movies you promised us at E3'10

10 ) Obligatory messaging system request

11) Indie games sound like a good idea

Probably more that I can't remember. :|

Like these. :P

12) Improve the battery

13) Let users change the brightness settings of DS games without going back to the menu

You can already do that though. Press the Home button while playing a DS game (but don't confirm, just leave it on the confirmation screen), then you press a combination of buttons which I'm sure is Select and arrows on the d-pad, it's in the manual. Then cancel the quit to the Home Menu.

*skims through manual* I don't see anything like that anywhere, do you remember where it's supposed to be? Besides, they could do us a favor and put a screen brightness option right at the okay/cancel screen, or better yet, handle it the same way they do with 3DS games.

Page 43, mine is Australian so I don't know how different our manuals are. Or just use the index to find brightness. Also the button is Start, not select.

Edit: Also, I agree with you, it would be nice to just have the same full access to the home menu while playing DS games.

Improve battery life. Larger upper and lower screens, but do not inlarge the system size.

How about some new and original games? I agree with most points about the hardware, but I would like to see some games that aren't a couple decades old, or a bunch of remakes.
