castlevania PoR or DoS is a very good game to get....

And also Custom Robo, if you can find it...

New Super Bros or Mario Kart DS, either one is an awesome first game because

A. They are both good games

B. Everyone has them so finding some one to play with wont be hard

C. Download play for people who dont own the game

D. Girls seem to like those 2 DS games alot. I met my ex girl friend playing mario kart in school XD

For someone who has been on Gamespot as long as you have, you should know better than to one write "topic" as the subject, as it is actually not, nor ignore the Recommendation Thread at the top of the page. Don't listen to anyone who says New Super Mario Bros as it does not use the touch screen nor is it very long or challenging. Perhaps doing a little research and just finding a game that interests you is the first way to go rather than playing the sheep and taking what people give you.

I personally disliked hunters. Im a big metroid fan but it wasn't that amazing. I mean by a techinical stand point it was amazing but the single player campaign sucked and the online multiplayer only stays fun for about 2 weeks unless you really get into it.
