DS Slot: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (First time playing a castlevania game :))

PoR was my first castlevania game. castlevania aficionados say that PoR is the worst of the three. i feel less than enthused to purchase anymore b/c i beat PoR so fast and i was expecting a much more epic game, but it fell short. ill try DoS next, but if that one has a stale taste, im done w/ castles and vampires ):
do you like it as of now?

Yeah! the game is really good, bosses can get a little bit frustrating since I'm not used to this kind of games but once you level up and manage to figure the way they attack is all well and good, besides I save a lot because of this . I'll probably end up getting the other 2 castlevanias once I finish this one.

nice. well w/e you decide. get PoR last. i like the battling, but trying to 'master' the sub-weapons is a true chore. theres sub-weapons in the game-all of which can be mastered'. but in order to master the weapon you have to use it an alotted amount of times. i dont mind that kind of leveling system but it literally takes anywhere from 500-2000 uses to get a sub-weapon mastered!!! that was my biggest wtf moment. and it truly does suck b/c the mastered weapon has a different cosmetic effect from its original outfitting. so im rlly using the kunia (some kind of throwing knife) 500 times to see what the mastered system looks like. its tedious, but if your hardcore-castlevania (which im not) go for it. its short but i think all castlevania games are short.
they have other sub-missions missions, but those things are almost a luck of the draw to beat. i had to used an online strategy guide:(
DS- Animal Crossing Wild World

Interesting, thanks for the info. In Dawn of Sorrow there's a system called weapon synthesis (I don't know if there's something like this in PoR) where you have the chance to mix a weapon and a "power-up" in order to create a new weapon, the drawback is that those power-up are gathered by killing enemies and -I think- is based on the luck stat (mine is currently very low) so that means that you probably will need to kill a lot of monsters of the same type in order to get one power-up if your luck stat is low. You can also buy some of the weapons created by this method but currently those are too expensive for me to buy, and so far I'm doing just fine with my current setup.
One more thing, online guides are meant to be used if you for some reason get stuck at some point in the game, I mean, there's no need to stop playing a game just because you (in general) cannot figure a part of the game out.;)

its not that i couldnt figure the stuff out. the game is entirely devoid of giving you clues on the sub-mission. like...'find the statues tears'!!!! omfg, its a castlevania game. its a statue every 10 steps. its things like tha, that actually desire you to want a strategy guide. i got through the game fine though...it was very straight forward, but the sub-missions....i guess you just have to experience. some are forgivable and i found out..but the others. i havent even attempted due to the lack of info:(
I'm seriously in love with Hotel Dusk. I've even stopped playing The World Ends With You until I beat it! Haha.

wow...i did the opposite. i enjoyed hotel dusks visual style, and unravelling the story. but it in no way compared to wewy replayability and content. in fact. the wewy story was far superior to what kyle hyde was involved in. but his story was well written and captivating nonetheless;)
