Levels are hardly alike at all. Go from Melty Molten to Toy Time to Matter Splatter Galaxy and tell me they're the same thing.

the levels are only the same if you are playing in the same galaxy, and even then theres variations.

Super Mario Galaxy is an amazing game, but I can see why a person could hate it. Probabbly the only fault i can find in the game is that its too short and the replay values considerably low. But this game has all the nostalgia, tight controls, and fun the previous games had. I think the reason why you don't like it is just the fact that it's a platformer.

Actually, I think that's more of a valid question. I mean it's a good painting but it wasn't nearly as famous as it is now before it got stolen.

I agree maybe half way with TC. I got about 30% or so through the game and just got kind of bored and stopped playing it for a while. It is very repetetive even if the levels arent the same, I cant really explain it. After not playing it for a while though and coming back from holiday, it is really fun. Maybe its just a game best to play in short bursts (for me). But you have to applaud the design and truely representing Mario in the next gen. Rhetorix

that's like exactly how i did it. i played to star 52 or sth but than i had a lot of stuff to do and lost a little bit the interest in it. after not playing it for a month i started to play it again and had so much fun! I#m still playing it atm, not much stars lef, but the level design is so amazing it's really great.

i can see that there is not sooo much replay value but i wouldn't say it's short.

is just that is too long, looking for stars... for me is like having 3 mario games :lol: My friend said... long = good, crazy women... :P

So what I did?? I played Mario for like a month... it was like buying 3 mario games.. I look for starts until I got tired of looking for starts (it got bored) and then play something else... and then back.. and so on...

I`m almost done... have just like 15 more stars to get :P... and evetually teh second part would be done.. :P

I do find this thread kind of pointless... no offense to the TC.. after all like someone said is just matter of taste... I`m pretty sure that a lot of ppl did not love Super Paper Mario as much as I did... paper mario is so cute :P

I'd say it's too easy, but I got a lot about Mario Galaxy. To me, the replay value was very high. As for the OP, just keep playing & you might change your mind.

It's a great game with some minor quirks (no story, too easy, stiff camera, too little wiimote control). Well worth playing (I'm going for the 120 stars goal). If you're really bored you can read my SMGalaxy discussion&review here.

The levels are nothing alike and have a great variety. This game is great. You should really pick it up.

The only problem i have with it is swimming.

can you really call jak and axter a platformer? or rachet and clank? they're the closest we have to the beloved genre these days and then mario makes it awesome again!

The music was one of my most favorite aspects of the game. It is probably the best soundtrack I have heard since Ocarina of Time. Orchestrated music is also a big plus.:D
