Is it just a bunch of mini games, or is there a story that develops as the game goes on?

Its a platformer (don't think you played the N64 version).

It expands it by adding 30 new stars and the use of Luigi, Yoshi and Wario. They also throw in some addictive mini games.

So is there like a story that continues on? Also, did you personally like it?

It has the usual Bowser kidnapping Peach story, but that is it.

Gameplay was good but i bought the original at launch for the N64 so it didn't amaze me since i had already played most of the game back in 1997.

it has a storyline, and you can get new minigames by catching rabbits or something. it is the exact same as the old one but with other optional characters and 30 more stars to find, than the old one. you will like it in the begining then it becomes pointless after beating it.

I'm guessing you enjoyed the original version a lot? Also, isn't it strange that others rave about TWEWY, FF IV, but not this one? I played a little of the original game, like an hour of it, and the graphics seemed amazing at the time.

The original was revolutionary and one of the highest rated games of all time (there wasn't graphics like that on a console ever before SM 64 came out).

But with other better platformers on the DS such as NSMB and Yoshi's Island DS, the game isn't a must buy.

it's a 3D platformer where you beat a level to get a star. I didn't like it because it's just the N64 game but worse because the controls suck

I have beaten it many times on my friend's N64. I got it on DS and beat it many times again. I can't get enough of this game. I say the terrible control schemes just add another challenge.

this. i was dissapointed solely because of how much it amazed me years ago. it was still a fun game and all, but it wasnt the groundbreaking new game it was back then. if you've never played it its definitely worth a purchase, definitely one of the best games on the 64. the added minigames are fun too.

People rave about TWEWY and FF4 because they are relatively new. Mario 64 came out at launch. It was great then, but i think its kinda unplayable now (the controllers are terrible).

I have played the N64 version, it's anything but mini games. Great levels and platforming.
