First of all, I still don't have a Wii. I'm planning to buy one. I'm gonna get it with New Super Mario Bros. Still don't have plans to buy any other games, and quite frankly I don't even know what other games the Wii has.

So, should I buy a Classic Controller for New Super Mario Bros. ?

And.....back to the topic question.....what kind of games is the Classic Controller most useful for ?

Thanks.

Don't buy one for NSMB it doesn't use it, the controller is mainly intended for Virtual Console games although it is an option in ames like SSBB. If you have an old GC controller you may aswell use that.

The Classic Controller is good for Fighting Games and Virtual Console Games on the Wii (and Monster Hunter Tri).

But getting it for New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a waste since it only uses the Wiimote.

I personnaly dislike it. It might have been a great controller a few years ago ,even though the Super Nintendo was a great games console, actually ,a GC controller is far better and more comfortable ,but that's solely my opinion. :) Moreover ,as others said ,classic controller is specially adapted for certain type of game such as classic games from the virtual console.

you'd probably would like the Classic Controller Pro then. It looks pretty sweet.

It has a different design and looks more comfy to hold for long periods of time.

Definitely for New Super Mario Bros. but also for games like Super Smash Bros. and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. It can also be used to play No More Heroes 2, virtual console games, and a lot of PS2 ports that come to the Wii like King of Fighters.

Gamestop has it listed for late next month solo, for the same price as the regular classic controller. I imported a Japanese white classic controller pro, and it's fantastic. Since a growing number of Wii games can use it, as well as VC games, I'm not hesitant to say it is one of the best controllers I've ever used. I'm using it to play the Resident Evil Archives games, and it's great.

The classic controller does not work with NSMBW, but it is useful for fighting games like Super Smash Bros. brawl. Many Virtual Console games use it too.

I'd rather use a Classic Controller for VC games than a GC controller. It feels better for games like Super Mario Bros 3, Castlevania games, Sonic 1-3, etc.
