What is the most balanced fighting game on the Wii?

[QUOTE="snowman6251"]I think "balanced fighting game" is kind of an oxymoron cause theres always one character where you can pick your favorite button, smash it over and over, and then win every time.Sonick54what game are you playing that allows that? >_>
I think he means that there's always a character people exploit in every fighter.

For example in brawl I can beat most of my friends using nothing but his standard B with a finish move once they've taken enough damage. In traditional fighters like Soul Caliber for example people can be nightmare or kilik, spam the attack that makes them spin, and since their range is so huge it dominates.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (The sequel to Melee, if you didn't know) is very balanced, the slow characters have strong attacks, the fast characters have weak attacks, and everyone in between is average.

No offense, but you're friends are probably pretty crappy if they're falling for spam tactics :?. not because of the character himself. (unless it's meta knight >_>)
I think that Super Smash Bros. 64 is the most balanced of the three SSB games. In Melee, I feel like they made things unbalanced, but despite that the game was still pretty good. In Brawl, I think they tried to correct this problem - and it shows, I mean you can tell that they have made characters generally more balanced in the transition from Melee. However, I feel that, changing certain moves around and adding final smash attacks, they kinda undid what they set out to do.
[QUOTE="intro94"]tenkaichi 3SMR-VenomHell. No. Tenkaichi is not balanced at all. omg wow I just had to say thats the best sig of all time never change it
[QUOTE="VGobbsesser"]Pichu vs. Marth? I don't think so... Brawl is more balanced (though not nearly perfect), imo.Super Smash Brothers Melee, because you can play it on the Wii.

Meta knight vs anyone not above mid tier :|
edit: actually, meta knight vs anyone not around his own tier listings.
A tougher question than I thought it would be, to be honest. It's not as if the Wii doesn't have fighters that do have some decent balance, but it's not exactly a strength of the system. That said, if it's strictly balance you're looking for, the Guilty Gear games have a nice reputation of always improving themselves with each and every installment. The problem there is that if you've played a game in the series before, you've probably already had your fill of the game's system to begin with. :P Other than that, I agree with most users in saying that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has a well-balanced and polished system. Also, while it's not perfect, don't overlook the Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution games, as that's a series that gets better in such a regard with each installment, a surprising quality for an anime-based fighter. Speaking of anime-based fighters...
Hell. No. Tenkaichi is not balanced at all.SMR-Venom
Unless you consider Hercule vs. Omega Shenron an epic showdown, I'm inclined to agree with you over 9000%! :P
But yeah, hopefully this post will give you a better idea of what you want. If you're looking for an entertaining fighting experience, there are a few solid choices for the Wii.
i'll have to agree that guilty gear xx ^core plus is your best option but it's definitely not my favorite.
i think you should just wait for tatsunoko vs capcom. i have a J import and trust me, you'll have a lot more fun especially if they go through with adding characters to the North American release.
Those DBZ games were never balanced, really how do you expect weaker characters to beat insanely powerful ones? Just like those sports games, using the stats of the teams from that season...
Oh yeah and a new Battle Arena Toshinden is being developed for the Wii, I like those games. This one will be a lot different tho....but keep your eyes peeled.
[QUOTE="savebattery"]Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus. webbutThis...and brawls pretty balanced in comparison to broken melee
no im sorry thats wrong. Brawl is pretty unblanced, and thats hard becuase pretty much two characters screw up the whole entire balancing system, otherwise it be like melee.
BUt Snake and Metaknight ruin this balance, Snake due to his awesome campiness. and Metaknight for simply outclassing everyone on the roster, he really does, Metaknight actaully has no counter. Not even Fox can say that. Before people start talking about Brawl being balanced, check some tier lists, fight in some tounries, your opinion will change.
There are very few soluid fighting games on the Wii, with Brawl being the most popular. Unfortunately, it is not a balanced game at all. Better try Tatsunoko vs Capcom, which also outstands.

For the record, just in case no one knows, Tenkaichi 3 isn't balanced, with cheap combo characters like Teen Gohan(SSj2) and Burter, or Giant characters, like the Great Apes or Broly. So, its not balanced, unless you stay away from all the cheap characters(and they take up most of the game)."That's why the game plays so well and seems so balanced; it's been made four times now." Alan Kim, GamesRadar US on Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2.
What do you think of Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2's gameplay and balance?
Brawl is extremely balanced. According to tiers, Meta Knight is at the top and Falcon is at the bottom, yet a good Falcon player can easily beat a Meta Knight player. GamerJM..... i don't know if you're being sarcastic or not :? If you're being serious, assuming both players are good with each character, meta knight will win. It's not like in melee where link still had a decent chance of winning against other top tierd characters. falcon is so horrible in brawl, that a mediocre meta knight could probably still beat him for the simple fact that meta knight is just a superior character in every way possible. i really don't believe i need to list falcon's flaws do i? either way, brawl is not balanced. at all.

Let me play as the weak character and I own the omega ones 90% of the time. Especially online. I use Chichi and most of the time I get online, my opposer is either Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta or Legendary Broly. I own them with her 90% of the time. I love a good challenge but don't like people that try to cheat to win and cowards that Run instead of stand and fight and can take a loss. Don't let me get Goten. That's just not fair at all to the opposer. Those DBZ games were never balanced, really how do you expect weaker characters to beat insanely powerful ones? A new Battle Arena Toshinden is coming to the Wii? Oh My God yes!! Glee!!! :D
On Topic, My choice for one of the most balanced fighting games on the Wii is Godzilla Unleashed. While not the best fighter, it certainly is fun to play, has four player, plenty of modes to play & plenty of characters. The only drawbacks are No Online and Needs more stages. It's definitely without a doubt graphically the best looking fighter on the Wii.

I don't like the gameplay too much, but it's a really balanced game. On the other hand, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi is one of the most unbalanced fighting games I have played in my life. Please Log In to post.
