What is YOUR goal in the Pokemon games?

Pretty much have fun :P beat the elite four have an excellent team i can use in battles through multiplayer and catch em all of course!

Pretty much this.

Obviously, I try to beat the Elite 4 and Champion. I've never really bothered filling up the Pokedex but I do try to catch all the available legendaries. I'm not really into Competitive WiFi-Battling but I do really enjoy the participating in Battle Frontier in recent games.

My goal is usually just to have fun and play through the story and become strong individually.

Can't really do the competitive battling aspect, since I don't have Wi-fi.

Probably just to get alot of my pokemon to 100 and EV train 8D;;

And have fun. of course. :>

at some point after beating the game i just start randomly collecting the pokes i like and training my favorites out of those :P

This. I try to catch my favourites, name them random crap (got a whole team named after the Sailor Senshi :P), max out their levels, and own the Elite 4's ass repeatedly. I usually am done after that. The only game I really went out of my way to do everything in was Gold on GBC. 314 hours...whoo. Burnt out the save battery.

lol nah, i never bothered ever doing something that time consuming. I simply wanted to have fun by finding interesting new pokemon and the ones i like, i caught and had my lil team of experts that ranged from 8-16 and just have fun :D the point of video games. Now that poke games bore me, I don't have fun so I don't play them

OMG that happened to me too. :( My brother and I were like, "Let's battle for old times sake" and I turn mine on and come to realize that everything I had done, all the hours I spent duplicating items, all my level 100's, my stellar team, and complete pokedex were gone. I actually felt deep grief because of it as it consumed so much of my time as a kid and I had so much fun doing it. :cry:

And I only decided to beat the pokemon league in HG and stop because it didn't feel the same. :P

Haha, I know the feeling. I'm guessing my battery died during a battle; my friend was boasting about how awesome her team was, so I pulled a sweep with my Feraligatr (Ice Beam vs Meganium = pwn). I still remember winning with 3 hp left, and how pissed off she was. Then I turn the game on the next day, and everything was gone. At least my team went out with a bang.
