Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. There really wasn't much that stood out this year for DS for my tastes. PSP got the most play out of my handhelds this year.

honestly, no game that was released this year (save fire emblem) caught my attention enough to be worth $100... but i finally got my hands in TWEWY and bangai-O spirits, one for $40 and the other for $20. yayz :D :P
Its between phantasy star zero, devils survivor or kingdom hearts..love all of 'em..I got bowsers inside story unopened so i dont know if im gonna like that one better...
On the DS? Knights in the Nightmare. This game is rigged with depth and content, feature-rich gameplay, responsive stylus-exclusive controls that work and an engrossing storyline with some of the best artwork I've seen in any DS title (my game came with a soundtrack CD, and a 96-page, full colour artbook). Thank you Atlus. Second runner up is Mario & Luigi - Bowser's Inside Story. Bowser has gained much reputation due to this title alone. He's a cool guy really, just misunderstood >.
It's difficult for me because I haven't played Bowser's Inside Story, Big Bang Mini or Professor Layton 2 yet, and Spirit Tracks hasn't been released yet, but I doubt any of those games could beat the greatness that is Chinatown Wars. I'm not even a big GTA fan and Scribblenauts was my most anticipated game of the year, but Chinatown Wars was absolutely fantastic and Scribblenauts just disappointed.
For 2009? Definately Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Even though its not out yet, the first one was amazing, and I know they can't go wrong with this one.
