What is Zelda's and Links Relationshp to Each Other?

I'm doing a essay on gender in video games and to make a long story short, I was wondering what their relationship was. Was it sexual in anyway, or was it just a really strong bond with each other?

From my understanding, it's mainly just a fated connection through the Triforce. Link and Zelda rarely have a direct relationship with each other throughout the course of a Zelda game, and it just comes off that as two people who are tied by a sole item, they're destined to meet somehow.

Other than that, it's rarely anything personal, although that has a way of changing from game to game, as Link and Zelda change from game to game as well.

It would not seem unreasonable to suggest that there is some form of romantic undertones (although the games never depict much interaction between the two at all), but there has never been much there. Certainly nothing sexual. It's a Nintendo game, after all. :P

in almost every zelda game, they are bond together becuase of the triforce, link, ganondorf, and zelda are all bonded because of it. in some games like TLoZ the minish cap and TLoZ four swords/four swords adventures they are chldhood friends/buddies. other than that i have no idea because they only briefly meet in every game.

Well, if you beat a connected Oracle game and beat the REAL final boss, Zelda does give Link a peck on the cheek from what I remember. It's not much (Peach has given Mario a kiss on Mariio's cheek plenty of times as well.), but still.

Well in OoT what REALLY happened was Link was jumped by princess Zelda, who sometimes dresses as a man, while concentrating on pulling out the master sword. She druged Link with Hyrule's potent Roofalin, which was specially brewed by the potion shop witch. Only thing is she gave him too much and the effects lasted 7 long years in which time Zelda had her fun, as both genders, with Link. That's why she sent him on that quest to open the door to the temple of time, it's the only place a princess can find solitude. Think about it, the first person he sees when he wakes up is Zelda dressed as a man.

But seeing as how you mentioned you have to write an essay on it or something you should just go with the first post by madmangamer. But we know what really happened shhh. :P

Aw yeah, that's true. I probably didn't remember it that well though because I was probably thinkng "Holy ****, I actually beat Zelda II!?" at the time. :P

there's nothing going on besides the typical "my kingdom is in danger, please save us all with no reward." I feel bad for Link because if I did all that (whatever Link you care to use), I'd expect at least "something." You do save the entire kingdom after all.

Maybe Link doesn't care about race and goes for Zoras or Gerudos though. I certainly hope he doesn't go after the Goron girls. They're just not soft enough for my tastes

Link = Do-Boy for always going to save someone that obviously doesn't want to be saved otherwise she wouldn't keep getting kidnapped. (She can TELEPORT for crying out loudand get out of holding anytime she wants Sheik reference).
