I recently purchased a 50" Samsung DLP set (below). Awesome picture. I'm using component cables for the Wii. Widescreen- for the games that use it- is nice, but all in all the image quality from that system suffers a bit when compared to when it's hooked up to a 30" TV with lower resolution.
I have a 57" Hitachi CRT rear projection TV. The component cables do make a difference, but like someone already said, 480p just doesn't cut it on a screen that big.
- 26 inch HDTV
- 32 inch HDTV
- HD projector on a 100 inch screen
i play the Wii on the 26 inch HDTV...
32po Sharp Aquos Full HD with a Wii with component cable (the graphic are brighter) and ps3 with hdmi cable(Amazing graphic) (it is so great playing Warhawk on a fullhd tv)
Using a bigscreenHDTV with the Wii makes no sense, even in 480p the graphics look terrible. A standard definition 21' tv is the way to go. No offence m8s.
yeah a big screen does not look that great at all. i play wii on a small hd tv set on edtv mode and it looks good. however my friend has a 52 intch tv and the wii looks really bad . its cus the res on wii is way to low to be dispayed on a big screen . likes face it 480p was made for tvs in mind that are no bigger then 30 intches . the res is just streched out to much on a big screen .Using a bigscreenHDTV with the Wii makes no sense, even in 480p the graphics look terrible. Yeah, but there are problems with gettign big tvs like that...I had initially purchased a 40'' dlp Samsung hdtv and was playing mariogolf on it, but there was some major lag between me hitting the button for the power meter and the power meter reacting to it...it was scrwign my game up, plus the inputs on it were all on the side and not in the middle back part of the tv...So I took it back for a 32'' LCD Samsung, and it looks as good and the games, even gc games liek Mariogolf, play just fine, and look good.

There can be delay problems on 480 games, if the TV is upscaling the image. There are ways around it, if you have a tv that does that.
The Wii wasn't really a big consideration in me getting the TV, though. So even if that were a problem, which it isn't, it wouldn't have stopped me.
I have a 52inchplasma special edition or something like that HDTV.the wii component cables i bought works great with the TVand the quality is awesome but it might be a bit betterlooking if the component cable was pluged into a smaller HDTV:D:D:DMetroid looks awesome in it:D:D
