Because it had Twilight Princess a month before the Gamecube did. Also SMG, MP3, SSBB, N64 VC, a Bleach fighting game, No More Heroes, plus its another console. I've already got a 360, and my Wii, so the PS3 is next.
The reason I bought a Wii was because I knew that Smash Bros was gonna be on it. But I just got mine last week, I decided to buy it early cause it's so hard to even buy the system, so I didn't want to lose my chance at buying it later. Once I bought it I noticed a bunch of other games that I'm looking towards.
Games, Games, Games and more Games. But the controls are nice and love them but there not to much of a big deal to me. Even if the Wii Had the same price tag, graphics and games but a normal controller I would still buy it.
Potential, something new, philosophy, experience with nintendo hardware quality. edit: and price of course. But that was more like a bonus. Like the free game. I can buy more games now. Free online and minor electricity costs, and its small size are sweet extra's but i was already convinced.
MSC, MP3, SMG, SSBB, Bleach, Madden franchise, Lego Star Wars, No More Heroes, Virtual Console,GH 3, and a lot more. Not including the games that are already out.
The only reason I buy a system -- the games. I work hard for my money... ok, maybe I have fun doing it (did I mention how much fun it is being a programmer?). But I put in my time for my money, so when I spend it I make sure it's on something I'm going to use. That's why I won't pick up a system at retail price unless I can see at least a dozen games that will interest me. The only system I've ever bought for myself and own less than a dozen games for is my PS2. And I bought that for $20 (system, controller, cables, and MGS2 for twenty dollars, so why not?). But to spend $200+ on a system, it would have to seriously be worth my time and money.
i got the wii, because of the motion controls and maybe of the fact i started with N64 and got the GC.but i was planing on getting a X360 OR PS3,but then when isaw theawesome wiicontroller at TGS 05 i was like i'm getting wii.
I used to be all over Sony but I missed the Mario franchise. Then one day a friends let me borrow Legend of the 7 Stars for the SNES and I was converted.
i was almost not going to get it after my disappointment with gamecube. i almost got a ps3 but at the last minute i decided to get the wii because i wanted to play mario galaxy, brawl, and twilight princess. now that i have it of course theres other games i cant wait to play like umbrella chronicles and mario kart, etc.
