I'm comparing the first two Paper Marios so don't be like, "Where's Super Paper Mario!?" I would like to know what you guys, as gamers, like myself think which is better.

*Ending spoilers*

To me Paper Mario was better, very hard pick but listen. First off I liked Toad Town a lot better than Rougeport. Toad Town was alive and colorful where Rogueport was kinda dark and boring. I loved most of the chapters in each game so there really is no comparison between that.

I liked the story in Paper Mario the best. When I was small, I must've been like 10, my heart almost dropped when the star spirits came and helped in the final fight. Then again, it was awesome how they made the demon's soul un invincible through wishes in the Thousand Year Door.

The party in Paper Mario was more memorable then the one in TTYD. How can you forget Goombario, Bombette, or Sushi. Some of the part in TTYD were great (little Yoshi), but some were... just ehh (ex. Watt).

In the end, they were both near perfect games in my honest opinion.

Paper Mario = 9.8

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door = 9.6

I prefer the 2nd to be honest. Just a better game overall.

It's a very hard decision for me, but I think that the first one was better. It's a classic, it was the first Paper Mario, and the story was memorable.

The first one is my favorite. It had a better story and party characters. And most of the places in the original were better as well. But both are great games.

Loved both, but I think the second one edged out the first one, because of its humor, superior puzzle solving, and a well-balanced party.

Where's Super Mario RPG. Just kidding.

Anyway, I'm going to have to go with TTYD. Why? I loved every level (I especially liked fighting my way to the top of the Professional Wrestling ladder, and I liked going to that Island...I can't remember the name of it, but you go when Bobbery first joins you. I also liked the level with those 100 little creatures that followed you...damn, I can't remember anything right now....whatever, I liked every level), the story was cool, and the characters were (for the most part) very useful...except Goombella...good-for-nothin', lousy, brickabrack! And so on.

Oh yes, I have to agree with that. The mystery at the Glitz Pit. That was in the TTYD, but it was still one of my favorite gaming moments ever, I was left in awe after the chapter was done. Kinda sad I'll never be able to play that chapter again for the 1st time.

I'm just goin to cut to the chase.

IMO:
Paper Mario>>Paper Mario:TTYD>>>>>Super Paper Mario

But lets be real here, Super Mario RPG is better than all of them combined.

The first. At the time, everything seemed so fresh: the graphics, gameplay, story. The characters are memorable and the boss fights were like nothing else. A great way to finish the life of my N64. (last N64 game I bought)

I've beaten Paper Mario. Loved it. Never played Ten Thousand Year Door so I vote Paper Mario.

I also got Super Paper Mario yesterday.

Its a very hard choice to make, but id say the Original Paper Mario. Iono, to be honest seeing an RPG perfectly put together with paper for the first time, really surprised me. The 2nd time around I still enjoyed, but their was more of a "Been their, done that" feel to it. None the less I still love both the games.

Not really. I liked the turn based a lot better, plus i got so impatient since this game is like purely text.

Both games are amazing, but I think PM:TTYD improved from the first game. The fighting system and badge system seemed more fun

I thoroughly enjoyed every Paper Mario game, and Paper Mario has now become my favorite spin-off series.Comparing each game,I would have to say that Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.I like each Paper Mario game about evenly, and I don't really prefer one entry in the series to another, but in terms of overall quality, replay value, and inspiration,Thousand Year Door comes out on top.

I like both, but when reading the first post, I remembered I also had 10 years or so when I got Paper Mario and it was my first-ever RPG. It was a incredible experience.

My favorite part was cooking. Although the second one has it, I enjoyed the first one much more.

My vote went to Thousand Year door, mostly because I found the characters to be better in this game.
