Pictochat improvements

1) Should have definitely been Wi-Fi (Friend codes)

2) Should of had the option to create the touch screen drawing only instead of typing on the touch screen so its easier to draw pictures etc.

3) Should of had the option to change colour of text

4) Should of had voice chat support

Anyone agree?

Well the main problem there is that Nintendo are aware that complete stangers share friend codes with each other, and so if abuse were to be exchanged, Nintendo would fear many parents, oblivious to the situation, will try to sue them as a result. So perhaps that's why wifi was never considered. Had wifi been included though, you'd still need the keyboard as some people have terrible writing already, excluding the fact that it's pretty hard to write neatly on the DS screen already. Voice chat would have been welcome, but I have no idea of what the quality would be like as i've not tried it on Metroid Prime Hunters.

Exactly. As my friend said yesterday; "Nintendo is like the training wheels for online gaming". Like Raiko stated, parents may become upset if they find their (young) child exchanging any kind of information with someone they met online. Picto chat was also a feature on the DS when it first came out, meaning they may not have exactly known/wanted to make it that complicated.

But I totally see how it'd be cool to talk to your friend, free of charge, wherever he or she may be.
