Gamecube controller, but that could just be because I'm so used to it from Melee. I've used the wiimote and nunchuck combo and the remote sideways, but I never got a good feel for them. Plus the Gamecube controller has the c-stick, which serves very important purposes in competitive matches.
Start out with the Gamecube controller since you are arleady familiar with it. Once you get a feel for the game and an idea of where you rank in terms of skill, then move to the nunchuck. I tried using the straight Wii mote, and not only hated it, but got my @ss kicked too.BlackZeroSA
that makes no sense cause if you learn with gamecube controller, you're just going to have to re-learn with wiimote+nunchuck cause all the buttons are in different places in comparison to eachother, so why not just learn it first?
i recently used wiimote+nunchuck w/out any changes.
then i decided to muck around with it and i'm like 10 times better.
what i do is i use tap jump so i don't need c or up on d-pad to be jump, so i make c grab and i make each direction on the d-pad a smash attack, so i can use quick smash attacks when i need em.
game cube controller if you played melee...ball_boy1992
it's not if you played melee, cause i did
it's if you played melee until the release of brawl.
If you've played a lot of Melee, use the GC controller, since they control pretty much the same. The Nunchuck set-up is the best after that.
all xontrollers are great in my opinion... but when you use te classic and the gamecube controller, you have the advantage that you can use the c button to do smash attacks easily... so you can kill people real quick, but when you use de the wii mote+ nunchuk, you become a better player because you dont cheat and as some people before me mentioned you turn faster so faster=better
btw if you like my gamertag a guy called mushir123 made it for me... at the forum called "I can make you a Wii gamertag" go check it out... it is really cool
