All the focus for Nintendo seems to be the doom and gloom of its financial forecast, but the fact remains that I still own a Wii U, as I'm assuming most of the people on this board, and it's a console which I intend to game on this year. So, why don't we forget about the financials and stock prices and all that nonsense that doesn't actually affect us and talk about what Nintendo's got up their sleeve for the coming year.
I think it's safe to say we'll see the games they announced last January that disappeared soon after --
Yarn Yoshi, Fire Emblem X Shin Megami, X, and course -- Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Hyrule Warriors.
I think it's also safe to say they've got a few more unannounced Wii U titles in the works that we'll end up seeing in the fall. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Star Fox making a return. It seems to be the title most gamers are calling for, and despite Nintendo never being a company to listen to its fans all that well, I think the calling is widespread enough that they've got a new Star Fox game in the making.
I think any chance of seeing Zelda U or Metroid this year are slim to none. Even if it's not a big franchise, with Hyrule Warriors coming this year, I doubt Nintendo's got Zelda U ready, and with Retro finishing up Donkey Kong along with Nintendo saying they get the first say in any potential Metroid sequel, it's probably off the table too.
There's bound to be a few other titles we'll see this year, too. What do you think they'll be?
And that's not even digging into 3ds...
