I have had 2 Wii remotes that have died within 4 weeks, one being a launch console packed one the other bought mid 2007, and they both died from the same things, they slowly started to disconect and reconnect randomly when tilted in certain directions, and within a few more hours it got worse to the point of it not working at all Iam about to go ahead and throw the 2nd one at the wall, batteries fully charged everything perfect can someone shed any light on this, because Iam about to sell my Wii because of this crap, because 2 new wii remotes are half the cost of a new wii and I dont see the point in keeping it then.

Absolute utter crap, these remotes seem like they are built out of cow crap not plastic and silicone, pathetic.

all of my Wii-motes still work including the one I got in 2007 with the Wii.

Are you Using Rechargable Batteries? I heard one time that one of the battery packs for those damage Wii-motes.

Yes Im using 2 Duracel Rechargable batteries, not any type of pack, Im so sick of this especially seeing I cant fork out so much money at the moment, I am disgusted at this Ill probably end up buying 2 of those fake Wii remotes of ebay seeing that they only cost about 20 bux and last the same length what is the point of buying 'officialy sealed' by nintendo crap when its as bad as something that costs less than a 1/4.

Have you tried normal batteries just to test it out?

This is just a question and I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties.

Since you're the only person I've ever heard this happen to, I don't think this is Nintendo's fault. Some products are faulty, no matter how good the quality is. Sounds like you got some bad luck. Go ahead and buy 3rd party remotes but I can tell you right now that, going all the way back to the NES, every single one of my Nintendo-made controllers still work, while half of the 3rd party products I bought are broken.

Im in Australia so we get ripped off to hell, complete package here wii remote+nunchuk+motion plus costs about 130au.... very very expensive., which is why im so annoyed were it like 40 bux id be going to the shop right now :(, not to mention the conversion rate from USD to AUD is around 0.92:1.00 the difference in prices is nearly double the difference in money which is barely anythign 8 cents atm.

dude you don't have to rebuy the Nunchucks or Motion plus(s)

you just need new Wii-motes. or try the Wii-motes with non rechargable batteries and see what happens. otherwise just get new Wii-motes.

I'm also thinking it's the rechargeable batteries. I used to own rechargeable batteries for my pinball machine. After I play and turned the pinball machine on, the batteries were dying. It also took the batteries FOREVER to charge. Ignore the environmental hippies! Don't use crappy rechargeable batteries!! The Earth is screwed anyways!!!

I might buy two remotes of play asia the coloured ones, 50 dollars each love proper money conversions :D, Iam also wondering because I have noticed heavy rain and bioshock 2 are only 63 each on playasia but it is the 'Asia' verison which supports the english language, does that mean there is no diff between that and the PAL or NTSCUS version? as in English text on cover etc?

Not sure what the problem could be, you could try and email Nintendo and sound professional (not like your complaining here). I have 2 from launch that still work great.

Just a thougnt, but have you checked the sensor bar and the cord connecting it. Some people have noted that pets seem to have an affinity for chewing on the cord and ruining it.

It must be bad luck, because Wiimotes don't just crash like that most of the time.

Feel bad that you have to pay double the price for Wiimotes because your Australian. They must be anti-video game.

For one, Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers cost more than Wiimotes, now that I've know the price of them. In NA, a WiiMote costs around $40, a PS3/360 controller costs around $50 meaning that in Austrailia, if the Wiimote is $80, then you may be looking at $90 for one of the others. Secondly, if you didn't have the money to spend, why are you buying Heavy Rain which will probably cost you $70 in NA and over $100 in Austrailia? Anyway, your problem has to be your batteries or you just got some bad controllers (for which I'm pretty sure if you talked to Nintendo Customer Service, you'll get the real problem and they'll most likely replace them for you if it was in deed faulty devices which is HIGHLY unlikely from Nintendo). This is the ONLY case I've ever heard of this also. You need to call Nintendo Customer Service and get this resolved.

Good thing is the wii remote hasnt died today, but it cant be just some random one of thing os Im expecting it to start screwing up again.

WHOA!!! $99 for one controller? Hopefully you can get this issue fixed or get Nintendo to send you a replacement. I'm sure the customer service will do so as they sent me a replacement sensor bar for free.

first are you the only one useing the controlers? do you have a younger bother ect that me be messing with them?

Also as far as recharable bat's it may be the type you are useing. i have been useing radio shack rechargable bats for about 2 years and no problem. my bats are nickel-metal hybride battery. To play it safe maybe just use normal bats.

You could just be haveing a bad run of luck.
