Okay, so I am a future DS owner, and I have heard a lot about broken DS Lite's. Should I get a Lite of one of the original ones?

Get the Lite, it has a brighter screen, smaller, the control pad is much easier to use, it's smaller, and I believe longer battery life. Plastic breaks, it's nothing new.

I've got one of both. The Lite has a much fatter and Longer Stylus, and a much brighter screen.

It does sebeem a little more fragile when opening the Dual Screens up though.

The Brighter screen makes it much easier to play though, and the Stylus is 10 times better if you have big hands like me.

So go the Lite.

Cracked hinges are not a problem. As long as you treat it nicely, the hinge will not create further damage to the system. Just go for the Lite. It's definitely worth it. :)

The broken hinge problem only affected early white models. Fear not. Go for the Lite.

DS lite. You would have to be really rough to break it.

The original DS have A LOT better buttons, but the screen alone on the Lite makes the Lite worth it to buy.

if you have large hands, you might feel the lite's buttons positioned a little close but you'll get used to it pretty quickly. i recommend it for its larger stylus (a good thing) and for its screens. plus, the phat (original ds) has a weird screen positioning. after never seeing a phat in like 6 months, my friend came over with his phat and i just held it. what a clunky piece of crap(cosmetically). and then the top screen was like 1cm forward. like its closer than the bottom screen. so its like looking at letters like this :

A
A

so definitely the lite. you won't regret it (unless you have really large hands).

I asked the same question about 2 weeks ago and I went with the DS light because it's not as bulky and the screen is brighter and such. I would def say go for the light but feel out the origional one and see if it feels better to hold.
