Super Mario Galaxy, and what a fine game it was. I would buy a Wii JUST to play that game (thankfully, it's not the case as there are a bunch of good games out there).
The day I got a Wii I rented a Wii game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
I also had Red Steel that was the 2nd game I played besides Twilight Princess I played it for 30 Minutes put it back in the case and sold it a month later.
When I bought my Wii, I bought it with 2 extra remotes, 2 extra nunchks, zelda TP, trauma center second opinion, rayman raving rabbids and excite truck. All at once.
My wife bought me a Wii as an anniversary present and picked up Zelda: TP, Super Paper Mario, and PoP: Rival Swords to go with it. I played through Super Paper Mario first.
I happened to purchase five others at the time I purchased Wii Sports. Wii Sports was the first game I played, followed by: -- Excite Truck -- Rayman Raving Rabbids -- Trauma Center: Second Opinion -- Red Steel ;) -- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess :D
Even if you count Wii Sports, my first game was Super Mario Galaxy. I bought that game months before I got the Wii, so normal "first game" rules don't quite apply to me in the same manner anyway. :P
