No particular order and only choosing one from each series:
Phoenix Wright: Justice for All- a nice change from typical games and the story had me hooked from beginning to end. I was on the edge of my seat in the last case.
Mario & Luigi 3-A fun and humourous adventure which is a step up from Partners in Time (but in my honest opinion, still not as good as the original).
Legend of Zelda:Spirit Tracks-A great full length portable Zelda game that fixes most of the problems from Phantom Hourglass. What's not to love?
Metroid Prime Hunters-single player is disappointing when compared with the original Prime trilogy but it showcased a truly great multiplayer experience that I never expected on a handheld.
Animal Crossing Wild World-the series is well suited on a portable. Building your town on the go is satisfying.
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam-the series was overlooked on the DS but they all boasted of incredible amount of online features and a community website. I liked Downhill Jam better because there was a gap named after me. :) Too bad the website is shut down and online play is cut.
Advanced Wars:Days of Ruin-same great addictive AW gameplay but in a much darker tone which I prefer. The story was gripping from beginning to end.
Elite Beat Agents-a very addictive rhythm game that boasts great soundtracks. The gameplay is tough to master but very rewarding.
Final Fantasy 4-my first FF game I've played and I loved it. A long RPG adventure backed up with a solid story.
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future-I loved all games in the series that ultimately makes you feel smart. The Unwound Future in my opinion has the better story that constantly keeps you guessing.
