[QUOTE="garrett_duffman"]make a 3d sonic game, but make it good, like the 2d games.
...
3d and speed CAN go hand in hand.GabuEx
Contrary to popular belief, if they made a game like the original Genesis games, it would not be focused on speed.
the DS games are pretty fast and the GBA ones are pretty fast too, all they have to do is add a dimension and viola! good game.what sega NEEDS to do is, is make sonic kinda like assassins creed, but more advanced i suppose, as far as how you play. its best described in exlpanation form:
-you're running, running, running
- all the sudden, you're headed straight for a wall, but there is more of a hallway scenario, and its turning.
- you hold a button to pick up speed
- you press another button, you jump, once you are close to the wall, in mid air, press it again, you stick to the wall, and one more press will have sonic lunging off the wall, having the same speed as before you picked up speed.
- but oh no, now theres a big gap with a whole bunch of tiny little pillars and such, no rings, no enemies, and the pillars look too narrow to simply run across, or do they?
- you either:
A. tap the jump button over and over to "homing attack" onto them, not actually homing attack, just something similar to the motion
B. hold the speed up button, and sonic will strategically run across them, losing minimal speed, and continuing on.
- oh no, then there are enemies! well you can...
A. jump on them
B. Homing attack
C. jump and grab onto them, forcing them to move and crash into things ( you control where you generally go, think of in TP when you have to reclaim your horse and its freaking out)
D. do something else i guess
- now all the enemies are gone, and theres a vertical wall! it has a round to the corner though, so you could either:
A. run up the wall, holding the speed up button
B. wall jump up
C. Start running without holding the speed button, then jumping up the rest of the way
yea this is all just general thinking... make him more agile, sega likes to make him just go fast. buut implementation is key i suppose, i bet sega could screw this up somehow
