the game is unlikely to be released because it has been 2 years now, they were only going to make one cos capcom said they will make a street fighter on DS and SNK are rivals to capcom
Just get "Mortal Kombat DS". It's perfect, has all of the characters, seamless online (though people DO cheat so stick to Friends), perfect controls and colision detection... it's all you need for a fighter on the DS. Seeing as "Street Fighter" is on the PSP pretty solidly, I doubt you'll see that on DS soon though hey, I'd love to be wrong because 2D fighters are my pleasure.
im not a fan of mortal kombat. i find the characters way too thin (anorexic) and i don't like the graphics and moves the characters perform i would like to play a tekken on DS

And again... Sony has "Tekken" in all of it's various forms SINCE the GBA cart... so my guess is, not gonna happen. SFAM3 and "Tekken" are both amazing on the other system.

Again, most of these are on the other system... an excellent "Samurai Showdown Collection" just came out, infact... and SF looks and plays awesome. I play a few hours (no kidding) of it every day trying to get better. And this from a sworn MK fan...

Street fighter 2: the new challengers is the only fighting game that i really loved. Its simply awesome how a game can be great, excelent music, excelent stage design, simple but good controls, best voice acting ever! To the hell with the 50 hit combo, super moves or any other crap like guard cancel. Gimme the old fei-long cool moves, the cool and simple haduken that you can keep spawning to hit the guy once.... good times.
I would love a remake of this on the DS, but i`m not sure if the tiny controls are good for it. =(
