I use manual all the time. It is a hard call though, my wife only uses automatic and she constantly kicks my butt.

Auto. I don't have time to worry about sharp turns and curves.

Manual.

I'm simply too used to calculate the drift to make the turns. I don't mean to disrespect anyone but when i saw the Automatic option I immediatly thought that it was created for people with no experience in Mario Kart and to the Wii's wider audience.

Automatic confuses me, like I tried it out recently because I thought it was a strange option and I just kept running into walls when my cart starting turning for no reason...

definitely manual - if you've played mario kart at all you're probably used to drifting around corners

i don't think i could drive with the auto setting on

You should try it with the auto setting on... Just to get the experience...

It seems in my Wii circle we are split 50/50 on Auto or Manual. Auto isn't just for people with littleexperience with Mario Kart, on Auto guy contends it drives 'more' (in that cartoon-unreal fashion) like an actual car.

Personally I prefer Manual for the speed boosts as I tend to end up trailing in 2nd or 3rd, only zip ahead for the 1st place finish. I also have had a bad time cornering using Auto (start to soon and hit walls). I'm just so used to drifting in SNES and N64 Karts, although some of the new karts have crazy tight turning anyways.

I use manual, mainly cuz I love the depth and strategy it adds (at least compared to auto), although I'm still not 100% used to it yet (never played a lot of Mario Kart before).

Why would you intentionally deprive yourself of mini-turbos? Survey says: manual.

I would use manual all the time and at first thought automatic would suck. Then when I tried it, it really wasn't bad. I'm still stickin' with manual though.

Auto, its much easier. I feel as if I go much faster in Automatic, but I'm decent in Manuel too.

automatic. Manual is too complictated because you already have to worry about wheelies, stunts, steering, and items. Plus manual only gives you a tiny boost anyway
