I'll make this short because this has most-likely been said before. Nintendo is uber-secretive when it comes to revealing what they are working on and showing the progress made on what they're working on. E.G. Disaster: Day of Crisis, Metroid 3, Kid Icarus and Galaxy for the longest time, etc. A large amount will start to come from Nintendo from 2009 onwards. They are just working on these AAA titles because they take time. What is making the wait seem so long is that Nintendo is letting the shovelware take the majority of control also giving some 3rd-party companies more time to produce quality games (Conduit, MadWorld, Tales of Symphonia 2, Fragile, etc.)
I don't know who you so-called hardcore-Nintendo gamers are talking about when you say Nintendo has changed just because they are also developing for the casual market now, thus the reason why there are mountains of shovelware. It is you who have changed (talking about those who don't understand why it takes 3 years to make a new game). Nintendo has been doing this for years. Look at the gaps between Super Mario Sunshine and Galaxy. Look at the gaps between Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, the biggest gap between a sequel in Nintendo franchise history. If you think Nintendo has forgotten you then leave but if you haven't lost faith then just wait patiently or do something constructive while you wait. Go back and play the classics even, you will only have to wait until 2009. Go and play another console in the meantime. I personally will be playing KH 1 and 2 on Expert just because I like the story. If you play another system you by no means are betraying Nintendo, it's just called 'being a gamer'. As long as you know which one is still highest on your scale that's all that matters.
