What's left from Nintendo for 2008???

We got/get Zelda last November, a Paper Mario entry this April, the more popular offshoot Mario games like Strikers and Mario Party the next couple of months, and the next major entry in the Mario/Metroid/Smash Brothers franchises this Holiday season (assuming they are released on time). Not to mention the newest and most successful Pokemon entry was just released for the DS. That's a big wad of franchises to blow in a one year span for Nintendo.

What does this leave for 2008 from Nintendo themselves??  

My guess is a new F-Zero and Starfox entry, and hopefully the next Maro Kart.  But the last F-Zero didn't sell so well and the last Star Fox on the DS left something to be desired. Mario Kart of course is always great, but it is still just a racing game. Maybe Nintendo will unleash their new IP's in 2008, both Project Hammer and Disaster: Day of Crisis. Maybe they will have to hold back Metroid Prime 3 or Mario Galaxy, which I hope to god they don't since both were in playable form last E3. Not to mention Prime 3 was once a official launch title for the Wii. The next Zelda? More like 2009/10.

Wii Sports Online maybe? It seems like there wont really be a major franhise lined up and ready to go for Fall 2008 from Nintendo with the big 4 already out or out sooner rather than later (Mario/Zelda/Metroid/Pokemon). Unless Nintendo does some major delaying. If we actually get the next Brawl, Mario, and Metroid this fall, WOW. Just WOW in terms of gaming bliss.

So what major games do you guys see from Nintendo for 2008??

Nintendo doesn't release anything and any game for 2008 until E3 or late into the year - just like what they've done the past 10 years or so.

Hell, we could expect a new punch-out, new kid icarus, new earthbound, sequel to excite truck.

F-Zero or StarFox (one of them will release in 2009)

A new Wave Race

Kid Icarus

A new Eternal Darkness

Pikmin 3

A new Luigis Mansion

Some new IP's

Forget 2008... What about this year? Wii slap on controls just ain't my cup of tea! I'm getting bored with port overs and new controls and little else.

Everyone knows that Nintendo will always release great games, there are just slow in doing it.

After this years E3 we might find something out from Nintendo. Stay tuned to that.

From Nintendo I think we can expect what has been posted already like Mario Kart, Zelda in hopefully '09, and Star Fox. What I am hoping for is the Wii to continue selling so the 3rd parties have to jump aboard and make some great original game franchises or bring us some sequals from games on other consoles like Kingdom Hearts, GTA, etc. I think 3rd parties will start to give the Wii more support in mid-end '07 so we will hopefully start seeing the games in later '08 or early '09.roboccs

Well now that Nintedo acquired Monolith Soft, we might see interesting sequel or new genres for the Wii. 

Nintendogs Wii has got to be in the works, and it could be a huge seller. Online dog shows and competitions. One-to-one Wiimote stick-throwing etc. Maybe even released in conjunction with a new DS Nintendogs, for some connectivity. Oh, and in 2008 we'll probably be getting a good flow of original, online virtual console (or however they brand it) content.

gears forza halo   pgr  and pd0 kameo bk 3 are from rare , so right now nintendo has more ips then any body in the business

I hope they bring out a Mario Kart for the Wii.

and they havent released any NHL, or Fifa on it yet only Madden and tiger woods but seriously im not going to get madden or tiger woods.

Like people have mentioned, there's quite a few franchises that could be in development.  I didn't see anyone mention Kirby as another possibility.

I'd rather see some new ip from Nintendo though.

You guys forgot, ther is supposed to be a Star Wars game in hte making! And with HAMMER and all those other games that we heard about, 2008 is going to be a busy year! We know about 100 games coming for Wii, adn they can't all be released this year. Half will come next year, so have patience.da_monsta12
