The legend of Zelda : Ocarina Of Timekanadark

any genre at all? well action/adventure, twilight princess. guys come on, admit it, it beats ocarina of time. in oot, ur forced to watch king zora move his ass like five inches, and it takes like 3 hours! the ending was awesome in both though. twilight princess, by the end, i cared for many of the characters. it was hard to remember some of their names because they're named only once or twice throughout the game, but their actions are easy to remember.

u got: Link, Zelda, Midna, Ilia, Colin, Malo, Talo, Beth, Coro, Rusl, Epona (if you count horses), Telma, Auru, Gor Coron, Darbus, Barnes, Zant, Ganon, the Sages, Prince Ralis, Queen Rutela, Hena, Iza, Fyer and Falbi, the Postman, Shad, Ashei, Yeto, Yeta, Ooccoo, Ooccoo Jr., the Hero of the Past (y'know, the sword guy)? Ordona, Faron, Eldin and Lanayru just to name a few. Come on don't pretend it wasn't a great story, and more importantly, probably the best game ever! (Believe it or not, I didn't look up any of them).

 As for fps's, Metroid Prime 1 and 2. Hunters kinda sucked in single player at least.

Platformers: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros, Idk.

Beat-em-up: Super Smash Bros. Melee. Duh!

Shooter in general: Resident Evil 4. No competition.

i agree with DannyRice THE LEGEND OF ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS is right now the very best game ever.

 It was just fun to play and lassted for hours and hours. just perfect.

My runner up would have to be suoer mario bros 3 my whole family has played and beaten the game with me and

whenever we have a time to play it I take out my old Nes and yes i do blow on it and dust it until it works again.

Ocarina of time or a link to the past OR wind waker... I just cant decide

TP sucked, I hyped it too much just to find out it was the same old same olf

reason I listed so many and I could have listed many many more is simple.. each time a game comes out thats really good at that point it has managed to impress me if not amaze me, so much so that at that moment I am focused on that one awesome game, the other games r great but I been there done that and now im into something else that is new to me and now my imagination is able to think and explore and I can no longer say that about the games I have already conquered so at that point the newest game iteration is my primary focus and may even become my new favorite... to be able to say that any one game is my all time favorite is kinda hard to do, especially with so many that have managed to grab me by my cohones throughout my 25 years of gaming.. I mean I could easily say final fantasy 3 for snes was my all time favorite but after beating it I was not in too much of a hurry to play it again, why because it just is not as much fun the second time around, then you have great games like the old track and fields, those game were by far awesome and addictive and everyone thought they were the best at it and it never really lost its appeal because  you always had to have the highest scores at evrything.. so really I cannot say any game is an all time favorite of mine, if a game managed to grab me and to this day I have a strong feeling of nostalgia when thinking of it then they r all the best games in my book...

Asking a easy question aren't you? er......(scratching head) for me Super metroid was such a epic game though Super mario allstars and zelda both kept me playing for months. Just thinking back the SNES had so many excellent games..

Metroid Prime because the level design is superior to any other games.  Plus, it plays great and has depth without being overly complex.

lol did you see the gamespot live cast when they got their first wii and tried out the backwards compatability, i think a thousand people got pissed that they tried charlie's angles and not wind waker.

The 64 had its fair share of bad games. Maybe they weren't made by Nintendo, but the bad games were there.
