How do you know what looks Gamecube-ish and what can only be done on Wii? These days it is very hard to tell and I myself am finding it harder and harder to tell the difference. In the beginning when the Wii launched we knew it was pretty much a GC 1.5 but I really can't tell what looks GC-ish and what looks Wii-ish. It's easy when it comes to comparing a PS2 game to a PS3 game because they are so different. I don't think Galaxy and MP3 could have looked that good on the Gamecube but with some other titles I can't tell. Can anyone really tell?

I think it's only SMG and MP3 that are Wii-ish maybe SSBB but I've not played it yet so I can't really comment.

the graphics are obviously better on the Wii but Nintendo hasn't pushed it enough to show it. I have a feeling that Capcom or some 3rd party company will end up achieving this first.

How has Galaxy not proven what the Wii can do? Nintendo's games seem to look about 10 steps ahead of everyone else's, but Capcom has belted out some nice ones.

The Wii GPU (graphics processing unit) is the exact same as the GC except with a little more power to create the slightly better graphics. What it sill has though are the exact same pixel shader technologies. Those can allow for the best graphics but the Wii is several versions behind standard and is underpowered to use what version it has. The graphics for the Wii will only be slightly better than the GC because of that extra power they gave by being able to clock it at higher processing speeds.

The Wii can do better lighting and bloom effects etc. there is also a little more detail in things like textures and character models. Its not a huge difference but its noticable when devs actually put some effort into it.
