I'd recommend Rune Factory. One game-year alone would probably equal up to 30 hours.

Advance Wars hands down. There's just so many options and the battles take a long amount of time to boot.

Well, it depends, if you're talking about passing the game's storyline or COMPLETING AND OBTAINING EVERYTHING IN THE GAME (every item, etc, until you've "Completely Mastered the Game" [Uber Master, thats what its usually called]).

I only have suggestions for the second type mentioned above (I don't know any game for DS that takes 50 hours to complete the basic storyline itself, I do know DS games that take 50+ hours to complete EVERYTHING in the game), here are my suggestions:

1. The World Ends With You (around 35-40+ hours if you are willing to accomplish everything in the game, and you should play it in its highest difficulty setting "Ultimate").

2. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (around 25-35+ hours if you are willing to accomplish everything in the game, then re-play it in "Hard" mode [without using any weapons, just the weapon "Hands", which is no weapons, its SUPER HARD).

3. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance A2. this game is coming out soon in 1-2 days, and is a MUST-HAVE for RPG gamers (to complete the storyline of the first Tactics Advance [for GBA] takes around 24+ hours, to complete EVERY mission [300+ missions] it should take more than 60-70+, and the game never gets tiring, so the sequel will most likely [very likely] be likes its preccedor, I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS!!).

I hope this helps, Sincerely:

-V

Mario Kart DS. It doesn't take a long time to beat all the grand prixs and set time trials for all the courses, yet it never feels that repetitive, even against the computers or online/multi-card/wireless-multiplayer modes.

Rune Factory took up a lot of my time...

Hell, I still haven't beaten it! But if you do get it, don't take a break from it...I took a realllly long break to play GTA4, and when I tried to pick up RF, I was really lost...

Hahahaha, the topic made me laugh because those are the games I usually recommend for someone wanting something that will last long. Umm, Final Fantasy III is a really long game. I'd try that. I liked it.

I wonder:

Could this thread belong in the recomendation thread?

But whatever. :/

Um... I disliked Phantom Hourglass to the core so I'm not recomending that...

TWEWY would be your best bet. [The World Ends With You.] It has a long story and nice characters as well. :)

Loved Phantom Hourglass. It took me forever to complete.

PuzzleQuest - not only does it have a LOT of quests but you can play up to 4 different characters (and can play as male or female). Playing as a warrior, for instance, gives you different abilities than playing as a druid.
