Everybody knows that the number one reason for owning a Nintendo console is for the fantastic first party games and that many critisize Nintendo's platforms for having weak 3rd party support. This lead me to wonder where in everybody's collection these "weak" 3rd party games are placed and explain why these games succeeded in providing you with quality entertainment.

For me, De Blob is the best 3rd party offering on the console. I used to absolutely hate this game when I first got it. I couldn't stand the length of the levels and the frustration of finding my way around them as well as the terrible jumping mechanics.

Later on, however, I had a sort of realization of how the game was meant to flow and then everything just clicked and it felt SO good. the jumping mechanics are still quite aweful, but this is without a doubt one of the most poilshed and meatiest platformer experiences I have ever had. I think every platformer should have something optional to force you to master the mechanics of the game to unlock additional and more challenging tasks (Yoshi's island and getting 100 points in levels to unlock harder levels, NSMBW and collecting star coins to unlock harder levels, SMG2 and collecting 120 stars to unlock 120 hidden stars which unlock the toughest two challenges in the game etc). DeBlob understands that in spades! When you rise above the bar of acceptable completion in a level, you are rewarded with a tougher level not to mention the MANY achievmentesque challenges for eachstage just begging you to master the game just a little bit more.

At this moment it is my 6th favourite Wii game of all time

MLB Power Pros (take your pick)

It's the number one game on the Wii and it's not even a contest, the fight for second place place start well down the "I didn't get first place" road

Best 3rd party games I've got would be House of the Dead Overkill, Okami, No More Heroes and Resi 4 Wii. Okami was probably the best out of those, though it's also the one that I never got round to completing it (got about 40 hours in). :P

Okami is my top favorite. But MH3, Resident Evil (0,1,4), Z&W are close. (all Capcom O_O)

and every review i read says the same. they say the best part (if not the only good part) of the game is that it has the NES adventure game in it as a bonus.

Wow this thread is getting some different games showing up. I was almost certain that Monster Hunter Tri, No More Heroes, and Little King's Story were going to dominate completely.

That's probably because I was thinking of 3rd party exclusives... oh well.

I'll list all my 3rd party games in order at this point to show you the competition De Blob had

1) De Blob

2) Rabbids Go Home

3) Boom Blox Bash Party

4) Zack and Wiki

5) Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom

6) Monster Hunter Tri

7) No More Heroes 2 Desperate Struggle

8) Little King's Story

9) Rayman Raving Rabbids

10) Klonoa

11) Sonic and the Secret Rings

12) Mad World

13) Samba De Amigo

14) No More Heroes

you could use item around to help beat the enemies..like pool sticks trash cans and even octopuses! the puzzles werent as hard as zelda but that ok.. collect artifacts..unlock costumes..and i LOVE the indiana jjones movies..

No More Heroes. If I had to rank it, it's probably at the absolute top of my Wii collection, with Super Mario Galaxy.

No More Heroes is definitely my favourite if we're looking at 3rd party on the wii. Suda 51 is one of my favourite developers. Ever since I played Killer 7 I've been kind of obsessed with the guy.

Well, I don't have too many third party games (or games at all), but I'd have to go with World of Goo (I'm allowed Wiiware games, right?). Its only slightly above LKS though.

Interesting, I recently played CoD:MWR and is pretty good, although I'm not too much into FPS. SW:TFU was interesting and I still have to try Indiana Jones In any case is pretty obvious your type of game has to be action oriented ;-) Regards

My sentimental favourite is Rampage: Total Destruction. It got lousy reviews, but it was everything I'd have wanted from a new Rampage game, and I've put over a 100 hours in it so far. The game is also available on GC and PS2, but I have played the PS2 version as well and I must say that the Wii version is a lot more enjoyable and fluid to play, and that's not even taking into account the superior amount of content and improved graphics (which are admittedly still quite bad) in the Wii version.

But if I would really have to choose a 3rd party title to truly represent why the Wii is such a fun console to have, I would choose Rabbids Go Home. It's such a fresh take on the platforming genre, not to mention its addictive gameplay, neat level and artistic design, and the totally awesome character editor. It has some nice implementations of the Wii's control scheme, while not overdoing it by forcing unnecessary or overcomplicated control methods down your throat. Read my user review of this game if you want to know why I love it so much, but I can tell you now that it's a really solid and fun title.

I'd also like to mention The Conduit. Granted, it was an average shooter in many aspects, such as artistic design, overly linear gameplay, and slightly retarded A.I., but it had the most enjoyable control scheme of any shooter I've ever played, and that's totally thanks to the Wii's capabilities in this area. I'm totally looking forward to Conduit 2.

Anyway, over half of the games in my Wii collection are 3rd party, which is a higher percentage than in my Gamecube and Nintendo 64 collections respectively.

Little King's Story and Muramasa would probably be my two favourites right now :) They would rank below Nintendo's best such as Galaxy, Zelda, etc, but still are awesome. My only problem is neither of them really uses the Wii controls very well! Zack and Wiki would be my favourite "Wii type" 3rd party game.

At the minute its de Blob. I enjoyed that game as much as I expected to, which I find quite odd. Anyways, its a tad repetitive, but a must for anyone with that compulsive disorder that involved completing every level 100%, or painting 100% of every level. I'm about to play Madworld for the first time. It looked great, and i've heard great things about it, but i've only just got around to buying it, so here's hoping for another good one!

Little King's Story is my clear favorite when it comes to third-party games. I would rank it in 3rd on my Wii collection, right behind the two Galaxy games.

Thats fair enough to be honest. Each level seems to take about an hour to complete. Either you're into it from the word go, or you can't be bothered. It's just one of those games lol.
