I think it will start losing it in about a year or two, because I don't really see that many good games coming out for it soon, except Pokemon and Zelda.

Indeed, I say around early - middle 2009 that it will stop going up and start going down in terms of popularity and all that ... the DS is a great system and has many more great games to come, a better lineup is coming out than that is already out ...
It won't until many many years from now.. There's something you have to take in account: The Wii has just launched. They both connect, such as the GBC did with N64, the GBA with the NGC and now the DS will do with the Wii. They can't take out another portable console, unless they take out another video game system (for the TV I mean, of course). And I dont see Nintendo creating another video game system for TV until 2015.

Hopefully never; as long as Nintendo and third parties continue to push its limits and offer innovative and fun gameplay and features, we should be fine.

You make sound like it's just going to fade away once this hype trail runs dry, but any trail that can last almost a year and a half should really be considered permanent, support is increasing not decreasing, and with that support the demographic for the machine as well as it's fan base will increase. The closest the machine can come to loosing it's popularity is when a successor is announced.

:lol: Maybe not that far, but full headsets (like that Nintendo Revolution Mock-Up before we found out about the wii). That seems like something that could be done in the future. Heck people are already cloning other people, so technology is rapidly getting better and better.
