So Dragon QuestIX protectors of the sky is not going to be released in the U.S. this year? I was really looking forward to playing it. I began reading about it early last year and it seems as if it will take forever just for the game to receive a U.S. release date. How disappointing.

Well when Final Fantasy III DS was on the way it was released in Japan in August of the 2006 and then here in the U.S. in November of the same year and so hopefully that is a sign that there is a good chance that Dragon Quest IX will be released here in the U.S. this Autumn or Winter of 2009; howbeit I prefer an Autumn release as opposed to a Winter release date.
Unless you can read the japanese language it's not really worth playing imported RPGs. I remember years ago a friend telling me he had completed FFIX on the playstation months before I bought it. When I asked him questions about the story he had very little idea what I was on about...
Dragon Quest IX will be out on July 11th for Japan, You can import Japanese versionit from Play-Asia.com

Exactly. No point. it is an RPG after all, story is a big part.
