When it comes to Wiiware, 3rd party games kill Nintendo's.

1st party

Dr Mario

Pokemon Ranch farm

....

3rd party

Eternal child

Lost winds

Final fantasy

Defend your castle

Bruiser and Scratch

Plättchen

Star Soldier R

World of Goo

And many more.... that's kinda unexpected.

I wish the support was the same for retail games.

Matt C. at IGN made an interesting point. It's going to be hilarious when WiiWare games come out and put all the shovelware to shame because they look and play better than their full-priced competition.

Yeah no kidding. Lost Winds looks better than any showelware. Through showelware doesn't need Wiiware games to be in shame.:P

I didn't realize Nintendo's entries were so limited compared to the third parties'. It's kinda funny because usually it's the complete opposite.

Looking forward to Dr. Mario, Eternal Child, and Final Fantasy. Also..."World of Goo" sounds like a really misleading title, but maybe it's just my dirty mind going into overdrive.

What aren't you understanding, Hulkness? WiiWare is a coming channel with downloable, mostly original games on the Wii (for a small price).

Ahhh, no problem. :) There are some really interesting games coming out. It's a good avenue for companies to try experimental ideas without the heavy investment of producing and shipping a full game.

I personally hope that Nintendo gets trounced in WiiWare sales. They've been giving off the impression that only their games sell on thier system (not totally unjustified, but then again, name me some decent third party games that are better than Nintendo's).

Wiiware is the service where you download original games from independent developers. It's like XBLA. Games that are already confirmed: Eternity's Child, LostWinds, World of Goo, LIT, the tellgame project, Bomberman, Dr.Mario, Platcheen, FF:CC My life as king, Star Soldier R,... Many of them are also online like Bomberman and Dr.Mario. The service will open on May 12.

Shovelware = BAD GAMES THAT NO ONE SHOULD PLAY.

Yikes, thanks Chris3116 for explaining that! I did not understand what this Wiiware actually meant either. Nintendo are acting quite sneaky really with this idea as its sounds quite intelligent way to allow 3rd party developers to get recognition without spending millions and to test the water in advance to see if there product will be a success.

I'm loving my Wii more and more each day that passes.

Yes very true, it seems like every sort of game is coming to WiiWare, even Hot dog Baseball eating (It was on On the Spot :D).

USEFUL INFO ALERT

this is probably known, but they also mentioned that the release date for Wiiware was May 12.

I can't wait for WiiWare games to start being released. Dr. Mario, World of Goo, and Lost Winds are looking like must buys. There are quite a few others that look pretty good too.

it is good for third parties to dominate wiiware because first party software like smash and mario galaxy dominates most of the software sales for the system.

I know! WiiWare has been a real surprise. I'm liking most of the games that are coming out for it, and hopefully third parties quit selling so much shovelware now.

Yeah it's cool to finally see some competition against Nintendo on a Nintendo system, even through it's only Wiiware.

Seriously. Most of wiiware games if not all have potential and seem to have effort puted in. I didn't expected all that from Wiiware to be honest.

You guys realize that WiiWare is meant to allow small independent developers to bring games to the Wii at low cost. The whole point of this service is to allow smaller 3rd parties to actually be able to get games out and maybe make more money to bring full fledged games out. Nintendo will probably not make as many WiiWare games because they want more independent developers to contribute to the service.

Yeah ok but still Nintendo wiiware games can't even be compared to the 3rd party's. It seems Nintendo themselves aren't even trying. I mean Pokemon farm? Come on.... I do see your point but Nintendo is still lacking badly on Wiiware.
