So while attending an E3 event like this, they might be given the impression that Nintendo is no longer focusing on the games that appeal to the core gamer, in fact we're still working on many of those titles, but it's just not the type of event where we'll be showcasing that anymore.

Do you think will show Zelda, Pikmin, Starfox or Kid Icarus at the Games Convention in Leipzig?

UPDATE! I just discovered they won't attend Leipzig this year. They aren't attending nor Leipzig nor TGS.:( What will they attend??

Nah they'll still announce Mario games at E3 I reckon, since they are games for everyone. Just stuff like Zelda, Starfox, F-Zero that sort of stuff will be announced somewhere more about the games less about satisfying the media.

I guess we won't have to wait very long. That's good.

People need to realize that E3 is a shell of its former self due to the changes the organizers made after the 2006 event. Some of the developers (Blizzard-Activision, Lucas Arts, etc.) did not appear in this year's event, and there are uncertainties whether there will be another E3 in 2009.

Nintendo did not have to make all its announcements at E3, as other have mentioned before me, because there are other gaming conventions coming this year. What about the Tokyo Game Show in September? What about Nintendo's press conferences that can occur any day?

It's common for Nintendo to skip out on game's conventions other than E3. They'll show stuff when they're ready. Unfortunately, we're at Nintendo's mercy now.
