I think I got mine early 2007, and got it in a bundle with Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Trauma Center, Red Steel, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and Madden.
at launch from midnight to 8 am just me a friend and a bottle of vodka. wii sports, natch... red steel and zelda also nother wiimote and nunchuck my wife was peeved.
November 19, 2006 12:08 AM Launch day. Waited 18 hours at a local walmart. I had the number 5 spot out of about 19. I bought an extra wii mote and of course Twilight Princess.
Launch nite 12.01am in Geelong Eb! I was number 1 in a line of about 60 and was fully dressed as Mario. When the clock hit midnight they opened up the store and had everyone line up with their ticket number in the plaza and then walked me in by myself and closed the door behind me so I could be served alone. It was awesome. After they finished they let me out the front door while the others were all still waiting in the Market square (seemed like about 100 people were there by then) and I took my new wii out of the bag and held it up for the crowd and everyone started cheering :) Great times!! Actually, I still have the commerative tshirt my wife made for me and my mates for the launch.I have not missed an opening for a Ninty console apart from the Nes which I still got very early but waspretty young :)
Got mine early last year with Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy. Bought it off my friends parents so I didn't even have to pay for the games or the three controllers they gave me ;)
Well, I bought mine on april fools day, 4/1/07, and i had waited since 3 in the morning to get it. I got with it wii sports, wii play, and wario ware: smooth moves.
Launch day ^ ^ with Zelda and Need for Speed. NFS sooo didnt get the credit it deserved and was ruined by people that are not good at games. At first when you play it yes the controls are damn hard and takes getting used to. Once you learn it however you get more control then ever and it does feel like your driving. I was flying around corners and zipping everywhere smoothly, something which cant be done on other consoles as during turns all your doing is tapping the direction button a million times trying to stick to the curve. on the Wii you just hold the controller on a good angle and tilt it slightly as needed.
