On the disc or console?
Thanks in advance!
All disk based media that are preloaded with content on them will always be "read only"... Ever heard the term CD ROM (Compact Disk Read Only Memory)? Thus, nothing in addition to what is already there can not be saved to them...
I thought this was common knowledge amongst us gamers? Or am I getting so old these new youngsters don't know how this old technology works :(
Who even remembers what a VCR is?
@darkmark91: Could be young 3DS/DS fan who is use to the cartridges having a dedicated save spot on the cartridge.
@iandizion713: Disks to cartridges is comparing apples to oranges =p
When I was much younger I realized the first disk consoles had these things called memory cards, for save data. I remembered the cartridge based consoles didn't need those. Thus, I made the connection that the data on the disks could not be altered.
Now the disk based consoles have have the "memory cards" built right into them (internal data storage HDD, Flash, etc.) So I guess these young whippersnappers will have a much harder time making the connection I made many eons ago. =/
Soooooo, depending on TC age I'll allow him/her/it to call me grandpa (once) or I pimp slap him/her/it (twice) jk lolz =p
@darkmark91: I wasn't sure if the discs were CD ROM, I thought Nintendo might have had discs that could have some data burned to them.
If I connect my 2TB hard drive to my Wii U, will my game data placed there and my games be downloaded there?
@mattahn123: If Nintendo (or any other gaming company) used rewritable disks the hacker community would be throwing a party lol
For your second part I'm not 100% sure on this, but I do believe you can save all your stuff on both interchangeably. You can always check in the settings where all your data is located.
