Where is the Metroid Series heading after MP3?

Since MP3 is the last in the trilogy, what do you think they'll do next? What do you want them to do next? Do you think we will see another Metroid game on the Wii?

By the way, there will DEFINITELY be another Metroid game regardless of what some may think.

Uhh, you guys do realize that the most recent Metroid ended on a cliff-hanger right? Nintendo probably has the ideas for Metroid 5 in development already.ZebethOrZebes

I've always been interested in a super-large 2D adventure ala Super Metroid, but now I'm not so certain. I think maybe the series should wait for a reboot. Retro has stated that they want to work on other games. Let's let this IP simmer. Maybe a multiplayer specific game to keep interest alive. Retro does Kid Icarus anyone?

He's asking what changes you want or think will be in new metriod games. Not wheter the franchise will continue to exist.

This is only the last in the Prime series, not the end of the Metroid franchise as we know it. They may as well pick up after Metroid Fusion. Maybe there are still Parasites left? I'd like to see another 2D Metroid game with 3D graphics like New Super Mario Bros.

Well, here is what happens post-fusion:

Samus retires from the Glactic Federation and becomes a super secret ninja-like sci-fiassassin. On her most recent mission, she must take out the queen bee of all Space Pirates.... Lindsay Lohan. (yes I went there) But later figures out that Lindsay is her daughter, so she has a choice, kill her daughter whose father is a space pirate (don't ask how they met), or save her and train her to be her successor...you decide.
