We don't talk about GTA for Wii, specially not GTA4.
Chivas.... Just kidding, I can't stand them and I don't even follow, just like to throw some 'carriya' on my brother el Americanista.
We won't get GTA4, but Rockstar could bring something over. Take the PS2/XBOX engine, tweak it (better visuals, AI, ect) and re model it. Call it GTA3.5. Have it show what happened in between 3/4. Problem solved...
Rockstar just has to make it now.
Actually, if you went and bought Scarface, you'd be getting the open world experience while not having to scope out for a good car amidst the millions of crappy ones in GTA
It wont be coming to the Wii.
After GTA4, there is no point in rockstar making a GTA like the ones before GTA4. The Wii wouldnt be able to handle ANYTHING in GTA4, and it would totally suck compared to GTA4 on the other consoles. All we'd end up getting is a GTA that is like the PS2 versions with slightly better visuals and better controls, so it would fail.

I agree. It would be like San Andreas with a little waggle. San Andreas wasn't bad by any means, but it's not a patch on GTA4, which is today's standard. Rockstar knows their audience, and that audience has bought a 360 or PS3 if they want GTA. GTA on the Wii isn't exactly a bad idea, but it isn't the next best step forward for Rockstar.

what i was going to say.
Hell no man. The Wii's motion controls would kill it. Horrible idea. I hope to never see a GTA game on a Nintendo platform ever.Lyphe2k
It's already been done, sorry pal.

Rockstar Games should really consider making a Grand Theft Auto game for Wii. The Wii has yet to deliver an RPG/shooter/driver game that would never get old and GTA would be the perfect solution to that. The Wii controls would give an extremely realistic gameplay experience and if it goes wi-fi imagine all the gang wars. While the Wii is a system that appeals mostly to a younger generation, everybody that owns a Wii isn't in their childhood. For these others they would see the Wii as a system for EVERYONE. If Nintendo and Rockstar Games work out a deal they'd see profits soar up and as more people than ever would be buying the wii and GTA. I know there's games out there like The Godfather but GTA is a game that speaks for itself and could make a great system THE BEST. So come on Rockstar Games and Nintendo work something out for us and for ya'll.pokemendude
It could be done. Such a game would not see release until late 2010 if they started working on it yesterday. What that means is: maybe next hardware cycle.
Besides, as you pointed out we are getting plenty of love from Rockstar on the Wii.

EA owns the engine that those GTA's were made on.
GTA 4 will never be on Wii for two reasons, 1-Wii can't handle GTA 4 (360 barely can the way it is), 2-Rockstar seems to hate Wii, all the Wii games they make are pure garbage.
The only GTA game that might have a shot at making it to the Wii would be GTA: San Andreas.
I hope they make a compillation or something with all GTA games (exept 4). Besides, who sais it must have motion controls? They could only use the Wii-pointer for aiming and browsing menus. Add some new extra content, GTA1 and 2 as unlockables, improve the graphics and the AI a bit, and there you have it!
The only possible good use of motion control that I can think of would be in San Andreas, for use in Basketball, exercising at the gym (in a No More Hereos style) and to control airplanes and helicopters in all GTAs.
actually, I would be really happy to see the original, top-down, 2d gta series come out on wiiware or something. Especially if they added an on-line battle mode. That would be awesome and I doubt it would take much time/money at all.babern38
This could work. Or maybe rename and remodel it specifically for online multiplayer, rather than missions. In fact I could see that becoming a million seller on wiiware and if Nintendo had got their act together they could have launched it alongside GTA4 as a spoiler. Mario gang wars, anyone? ;-) Princess Peach with a rocket launcher :-D

you have to think about how much time and resources they just spent making GTA4... i'm pretty sure making a wii version or any GTA game is not on their priority list
Well I don't want to be bashed by a bunch of sheep, but the wii seriuosly can;t handle the GTA expierence. If there ever was a GTA for the Wii it would be seriously toned down, from how big te game is, to graphics, to the amount of violence. Also, I doubt that Nintendo will ever work with Rockstar, after they tried to ban Manhunt 2 from the Wii.animefreezeA few lessons to be learned...
1.- R* brought BULLY to Wii, even after that mess that is Man Hunt 2, and it was not Nintendo that tried banning the game.
2.- Scarface is on Wii, which is just a mess of violence and cursing as GTA.
3.- Wii is more than capable of running the previous installments of GTA.
So any other uneducated comments you'd like to make.
EDIT: Forgot to add, "Oh noes I'z iz bazhings jooz as da sheepz I are."

I never really understood why so many people think that the Wii has the perfect controls for everything. I don't see why the Wii controls would be any better than the 360 or PS3 controls. How would it be more realistic, the game uses auto aim for the most part. If it goes Wi-Fi it would be just like the 360 and PS3 but worse due to no voice chat and...it being the Wii online. Good luck telling one of your guys to pick you up on an objective based game.
They might bring something out for the Wii like this, but not GTA 4.
