Since Donkey Kong Country 2 came out for the VC today, I was wondering which Donkey Kong Country was everyone's favorite. Personally, I like Donkey Kong Country 2 the best, which is why I'm so happy it came out today :).
Donkey Kong Country 2 - one of the best platformers ever made. Though my SNES was boxed together with the original, so I have many, many good memories if it.
I won't be getting any of the DKC games on VC (too short) but I loved DKC2. It was the perfect balance of gameplay and extras. There were almost too many things you had to worry about in DKC3. And DKC1 was too simple.

Well, of the three, DKC 2 was the longest, wasn't it? It had at least 10 hours of gameplay I thought...
I'd have to go with the original as the best platformer ever made personally, but the others were very good too. 2 & 3 just didn't appeal to me as much for some reason.
DKC 2 was my favorite. I felt the levels were the best of the trilogy, and a little more challenging than DKC 1. For some reason, DKC 3 didn't appeal to me as much. I still play 1 and 3 on my SNES all the time -- unfortunately DKC2 wore out a few months back :P
At the moment I would say DKC as I haven't played 2 or 3 that extensively... Though I did download DKC 2 yesterday so that could quickly change... though DKC does have DK himself...
I really hated 2 for some reason, and going back to 3 also makes me angry. (I blame rareware for bailing on nintendo and going to the dark side) but 1 is great.

Maybe becuase of its high difficulty? I haven't played it in a while, but I remember it being frustratingly difficult.

DKC 2 is the best game in the series, followed by 1 and 3 is in a distant third. 3 just wasn't very appealing (Kiddie Kong is an annoying character), I didn't like allot of the level design, I didn't like the character designs, and I really didn't like animals (No Rambi!? WTF Rare).
I finished DKC1 back in the day and I realized it was a platformer with not much depth with cutting edge graphics for the day. I never played the other two. I passed up on downloading DKC1 since I already played it and don't think it will hold up well with time.  Since I never played DKC2 and all the positive feedback its been getting, I may give it a go. Worth it?
