some of these are kinda 2.5 so i cant decide but: Advance wars DoR, New Super mario bros, The world ends with you and proffesor layton

The World Ends With You, or Contra 4. TWEWY has a better style but Contra is awesome because it can throw so much stuff at you at once.

Definitely Order of Ecclesia. Contra is also good. TWEWY is really great but when you walking and you're in foreground you can easily see awful pixels. Prof Layton has unique style too and maybe phoenix wright

While it wasn't exactly the best looking game artistically, I would have to say when I saw all that was going on in Bangai-O I was pretty impressed.Eternity's Child is also supposed to be coming to the DS and it's got some really great 2D going on.

If you think PoR looks good, just wait until you play OoE... more details, more fluid animations, better artistic design and infinitely better character design!

Yeah, I thought the videos looked better, but I got Portrait of Ruins because it's a good game, and much cheaper than OoE. :P

Heck...I was going to say Barnyard Blaster: Swine of The Night. How ironic, a Castlevania spoof. It's graphics are really solid for 2-D, not what you normaly think of as "great graphics" but I really enjoyed them, not to mention the game is a blast. But yeah, Order does seem to be what I'd call "classicly beautiful" :P
