Lets start off by asking what systems you have, or what system you are looking to buy the game on. See the DS is getting a remake of Final Fantasy 4 here in a few days, and FFXII has not be labeled a release date. So you are basicly looking at all the old school final fantasy games. Well tell me what systems you have, or what system you are looking to buy the final fantasy game for.

Um, i would think he would be talking about the ds since its in the ds forums. Ya know, just maybe. Theres Final fantasy 3, final fantasy 4 coming soon, final fantasy tactics a 2, final fantasy 12: revanent wings, final fantasy: the rings of fate. The list goes on. It really depends on if you are wanting a true final fantasy game, or a spin-off title. Hope that helped

Yea perhaps he could be talking about the DS, but did you also notice how he said a little something about the Wii. Now correct me if I am wrong, but is the Wii a DS? Yea I think not. Anyways you could have been a little nicer, you never really know, people post in the wrong section daily.

I'm sorry if i came acroos offensively. I aaure you i meant no harm. If i offended you, i am sorry, but i get tired of young kids on the forums, so i have to see if they really have the intellegence to post here. I mean, you don't want people coming onto the forums to ask minimal questions (Like what an RPG is >.>). It just gets annoying. I'm sorry if i came across rude. :)

Yea I understand, it just bugs me when people come here and ask a question, than people ridcule the person asking the question, and sometimes the person answering the question. But its all good, thanks for applogizing that is not seen very often here... I really appriciate it. But hell if someone has a question, why not just get it answered, and get on with life? Instead of bashing someone about an answer, or a question... anyways I am done ranting...

Final Fatasy 4 never came out on the NES. Sorry to nit pick, but it's got to be said. Here's the run down. Final Fantasy IV was first released in the US as Final Fantasy II for the SNES. It then saw a re-release on the PS1 in the package Final Fantasy Chronicle. Then, it was re-released again for the GBA and is now being re-released once again for the DS with completely revamped graphics. There you go.

Also, that's a good one to get. But if you want to know what others to get, check out a couple of my reviews if you need help deciding.

It would depend which kind of games you like, for turnbased i would get final fantasy 3 just because the story was never released in the US. For FF4 its been out for a while. For RTS games go for FFXII Revanant wings, for a non turn based rpg go for RoF. This depend what kind of games you like. Take your pick

Reverent Wings is a sequal to Final Fantasy XII so that knocked me back from ever trying it, considering I hate the first one for the consoles. As for Final Fantasy 3, I just thought that game was stupid, I never finished it, and ended up just selling it. As for Final FaNTASY 4, i played that game for the GBA, as Final Fantasy two I think it was, and it was awesome, I love the game ever since than, and bought the GBA version, and now I am buying the DS version, I say get Final Fantasy 4 if you are going to get any on the DS, its the only decent one there is for the system.

Well it depends on system DS or GBA that you are looking to get a FF game on, the best two imo are FFVI for the GBA and FFXII: RW for the DS.

I'd go with RW or the new Tactics game, I own both and both are great. I'm so done with square enix re-makes. I mean sure it's cool to have new graphics, sounds, and dialoge in a classic, but it really does not make the game a whole lot better, let alone 40 dollars worth better. I wish SE would focus their time on making new FF games instead of putting lipstick on a pig and wanting 40 bucks for it.

I bought FF3 for the DS back when it first came out, some two years ago, and never got into it.

I personally recommend Final Fantasy Tactics: A2.

I would get final fantasy 4 for the ds it looks like it is going to be a hard and long game. Speaking about the rumor I was reading the magazine play and on the story about final fantasy 4 the company matrix who does the remakes might be doing 5 and 6 just like 4 just got. Of course that is only a rumor as of now. Until they confirm it I will not believe it.

FF IV definitely. Its the hyped ff for the ds.... FFTA2 is good but it may take awhile to get into it.. so you might wanna give it a big try. Revenant Wing is the sequel to FFXII and has a different kind of gameplay.. but dont let that stop you (i dont really favor it though, maybe its just me..)

As a very hardcore fan of the series, my recommendation would be to pickup FF IV (remastered) for the Nintendo DS when it released next week.

There is a great storyline and many themes and morals are presented in this particular game that makes it stand out from all the Final Fantasy series. Truly my favorite of all time.

Side Note: I still have FF II for my SNES still in pristine condition. It's so easy now compared to some of the remakes. :]

I would say either FFVI for the GBA or FFIV for the DS if you want the traditional turn based type of gameplay. If you are looking for something different, I suggest FFXII: Revenant Wings. Very fun game.

@Shadow Tongy - I have:

PS3 80GB MGS4 U.S., 360 Elite, Wii, DS Lite, PSP Slim GOW Edition, PS2, Dreamcast, N64, Atari 2600, PC :D

@All - I am definitely going to get:

1) FFIV remastered for DS Lite

I dunno about FFXIII, I really didn't like the fighting system in FFXII, it's just not my thing. I didn't like FFXII Revenant Wings on DS either. I don't know if FFXIII will have that same type of gameplay, I'm old school FF like that. I like a solid FF formulaic JRPG that centralizes narrative over "keeping up with the joneses". Futhermore, FFXIII is being released on 360 now. Which is good in the sense that more people can now have access too it, but it's bad because when a game is developed and optimized for the PS3 cell processor specifically, it is unparalleled. If they castrate the PS3 version to port a comparable version to 360, I'll just get it on 360 cuz it at least has 48 pipelines video. I was looking forward to another cell processor optimized title like MGS4. Most likely this will never happen now for FF.

I heard it will be harder and I believe some extras are included in the game. Some more back story is also supposed to be in the game. I fear nothing! Muahaha!
