Lets start off by asking what systems you have, or what system you are looking to buy the game on. See the DS is getting a remake of Final Fantasy 4 here in a few days, and FFXII has not be labeled a release date. So you are basicly looking at all the old school final fantasy games. Well tell me what systems you have, or what system you are looking to buy the final fantasy game for.
Um, i would think he would be talking about the ds since its in the ds forums. Ya know, just maybe. Theres Final fantasy 3, final fantasy 4 coming soon, final fantasy tactics a 2, final fantasy 12: revanent wings, final fantasy: the rings of fate. The list goes on. It really depends on if you are wanting a true final fantasy game, or a spin-off title. Hope that helpedLets start off by asking what systems you have, or what system you are looking to buy the game on. Well I would say final fantasy 4 for ds. I had it for gba, It has good graphics and the same story line as the nes version.
I think is an old rumor but i heard they were remaking all the ff games for ds. so thats what i think

Final Fatasy 4 never came out on the NES. Sorry to nit pick, but it's got to be said. Here's the run down. Final Fantasy IV was first released in the US as Final Fantasy II for the SNES. It then saw a re-release on the PS1 in the package Final Fantasy Chronicle. Then, it was re-released again for the GBA and is now being re-released once again for the DS with completely revamped graphics. There you go.
Also, that's a good one to get. But if you want to know what others to get, check out a couple of my reviews if you need help deciding.
I bought FF3 for the DS back when it first came out, some two years ago, and never got into it.
I personally recommend Final Fantasy Tactics: A2.

I would get final fantasy 4 for the ds it looks like it is going to be a hard and long game. Speaking about the rumor I was reading the magazine play and on the story about final fantasy 4 the company matrix who does the remakes might be doing 5 and 6 just like 4 just got. Of course that is only a rumor as of now. Until they confirm it I will not believe it.
As a very hardcore fan of the series, my recommendation would be to pickup FF IV (remastered) for the Nintendo DS when it released next week.
There is a great storyline and many themes and morals are presented in this particular game that makes it stand out from all the Final Fantasy series. Truly my favorite of all time.
Side Note: I still have FF II for my SNES still in pristine condition. It's so easy now compared to some of the remakes. :]

FFIV for DS is supposed to be hard as nails!
@Shadow Tongy - I have:
PS3 80GB MGS4 U.S., 360 Elite, Wii, DS Lite, PSP Slim GOW Edition, PS2, Dreamcast, N64, Atari 2600, PC :D
@All - I am definitely going to get:
1) FFIV remastered for DS Lite
I dunno about FFXIII, I really didn't like the fighting system in FFXII, it's just not my thing. I didn't like FFXII Revenant Wings on DS either. I don't know if FFXIII will have that same type of gameplay, I'm old school FF like that. I like a solid FF formulaic JRPG that centralizes narrative over "keeping up with the joneses". Futhermore, FFXIII is being released on 360 now. Which is good in the sense that more people can now have access too it, but it's bad because when a game is developed and optimized for the PS3 cell processor specifically, it is unparalleled. If they castrate the PS3 version to port a comparable version to 360, I'll just get it on 360 cuz it at least has 48 pipelines video. I was looking forward to another cell processor optimized title like MGS4. Most likely this will never happen now for FF.
