We all know SMG is the best game for Wii right now. Which game do you think will be better than SMG Most ppl will probably say SSBB but i think No More Heroes. What are your thoughtsIndColts
I think that's a faulty assumption. "Best" game is whatever you enjoy playing the most, not what other people think. I like SMG well enough, but I have zero interest in either SSBB or No More Heroes. Actually I'd rather play Madden 08 or MLB Power Pros than SMG (I watch my son play SMG more than I play it myself), but that's *my* preference.
To answer your question though- with hesitancy I say The Force Unleashed. We won't know until it gets closer to release, but if they manage to get 1:1 Wiimote:Lightsaber and get the nunchuk handling force powers effectively, it's got a chance to be an amazing game. But as far as "the best," it depends on what you like/what criteria you set. From what little I've read about TFU, I don't imagine it will be as good graphically as SMG.But for me, graphics are a secondary concern (otherwise I'd own a PS3 or 360 instead of a Wii). It'll depend on the gameplay and story more than anything else. But we'll see.

I know this reinforces your point, but man, I really have completely different tastes in games than you. I usually avoid even touching sports games. As for the topic of this forum, I'm hoping to be blindsided by whatever tops SMG. A surprise masterpiece of a game would be nice.I wouldn't act like everyone thinks its the best game. I thought Metroid Prime 3 was definately better and am currently having more fun with Guitar Hero III than Galaxy.

I agree
There's no game on the horizon that comes close to taking the throne, the next big thing from Nintendo will be Wii Fit but that wont challenge Galaxy.
Wii Fit? What about Brawl?

Brawl wont be a super hit for the system. It's too niche a market. Nintendo knew that and pulled it from this holiday so it wouldn't have to squash one of it's own titles with Galaxy.
I know a lot of people are saying "well it's got multiplayer" but that's going to be eclipsed by Mario Kart Wii which will be a much more accessible game for everyone (regular players or not)
Galaxy has shown to push the Wii when it comes to just magnificent gameplay that is not only recognized by reviewers and fans of the franchise, but new players as well. It's put a new stamp on the market that no other Wii titles have done.
Wii Fit is the only title on the Wii (so far known) that has the same kind of power for the console.

Brawl will be a super hit for the system. Just because you don't like it dosen't mean it's prequel wasn't the most selling game on the GC. Do you truely think that Mario Kart will sell more than SSBB? kingqaz
If you mean what title was the better seller it's Mario Kart on the Gamecube. It's sales beat Smash Bros on the Cube.
I expect Mario Kart Wii to outsell Smash on the Wii also. Smash wont be a bad game but it's not going to be as accessible as Mario Kart, there's no way.

That's the great thing about having variety, there's something for all of us and we can play whatever does it for us personally:) I mostly gravitate towards sports games and RPGs. I burned out on FPS's after spending more hours than what was healthy playing network DOOM and later Quake in the early to mid-'90s, so I don't even give games in that genre more than a passing glance. The rampant cheating in the PC world eventually wore me out on online multiplayer too (haven't even tried online multiplayer on a console). But at the same time I'm not going to tell anyone who prefers thatstuffthat their interests aren't just as valid as my own :)
But yeah, I'd like to be blown away by some surprise title that isn't on anyone's radar as well.
SSBB is the next big wii game
Mario Kart wii ... probably too
well actualy, games made by nintendo are the only ones on the wii that will be huge hits .... even No More heroes and Zack&wiki ... those games will maybe end up making the top 20 or top 10 of all time wii games .... but the top 5 will always be for Nintendo games because it's the only companie that really cares
It wont be beaten for a long time. The only things that is announced that will come close, im talking like 9.0, is brawl and mario kart wii. Maybe a future game will beat it, but we dont know wat games are coming out that will be huge. By this time next year there should be a game announced that can rival it. But for now it just reigns supreme on the wii.
Brawl or the next Zelda.
Not Sadness, whoever sad that fails.
Stevendawg
I really think Sadness has the potential to be this generation's Resident Evil 4. The idea is brilliant and Nibris is putting everything they have into the project. They're trying as hard as they can to produce a AAA product and if they deliver I really think the game will be great.
As for everyone who's listing No More Heroes, I don't think that'll be it. If you listened to the most recent Wiik in Review, you'll notice that while they did really enjoy the game, they did have some complaints about it that will prevent it from reaching greatness like SMG did.
The popular notion that no game will top Mario Galaxy is what I'm leaning toward. Now that it's out and everyone's playing it and beating it, we're looking toward the next big thing. Let's not forget what Mario means for nintendo. He's not just the mascot for the console, but for the company as a whole. Mario represents 25 years of gaming. And as Nintendo took a risk and went a new direction for the next-generation, they sent their flagship franchise out among the masses, almost a year to the date of the wii's release, and told everybody that this game is what the wii was going to be all about. They used it as a stepping stone to a new standard, an "I told you so" to doubters, and as a tech demo to half-ass developers all at the same time. This game carried some major expectations and it has met them all. Mario set the standard for platforming and games in general with SMB 3, Super Mario World, SM64, and now with Mario Galaxy. Let's take a minute and appreciate what this game has been able to accomplish before we move on to the next game. History has just been made here. The only game that has the kind of mass appeal to even begin to compare to the expectations of a next-gen mario game is Zelda. We're all aware that TP was a gamecube port, so I doubt we can say it has officially made its debut yet. The innovation made in Mario Galaxy will significantly raise the standard for what's expected from the next Zelda title. It is the only Nintendo title on the horizon that can even begin to garner the respect and dedication that Galaxy has. Let's just hope it's epic enough to satisfy.
