I think the Wii is lacking FPS which is a shame imo.
the controls are perfectly set up for this genre, and still....nothing.
Sucks
Does that include games that are considered not that great because there is every genre on Wii but if you are talking about games that are actually worth a look in a specific genre then that is a different story. I would like to see more adventure games not just on Wii but also on the other platforms as well. We only have Mario, Zelda, Ratchet and Clank, and Banjo Kazooie. The Banjo game seems like it is more about building machines then it is about finding things and traveling. I don't really have any specifics on Wii but game genre's I would like to see more of are:
Fighting Games
Adventure Games
Action Games that are not hack and slash such as DMC and Ninja Gaiden type games
Adventure Puzzle game like Prince of Persia, Klona
Personally, I'd like some more RPGs on the Wii. Right now there's just Opoona, Fire Emblem, The Dog Island and Fire Emblem, which isn't enough IMO.JAB991
can someone please tell me what IMO means?!!???
and i would like to see some more FPS

in my opinion
RPG, we need a Final Fantasy (yesI know Crystal Bearers might be coming out)PhazonBlazerid prefer a multiplayer RPG like gauntlet or dungeon explorer over another FF, i think crysal bearers is good for now, Tos2 should be really good too, im replaying the first one again and its still just great
FPS and RTS since these genres fit the Wii's control scheme perfectlyArclight_Blue
This is soooo true, the wii has much more potential for RTS than an Xbox 360 and more FPS potential than a computer. More RTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
FPS! Red Steel is the bets FPS on Wii so far IMO so that's saying something abut how many FPSs there are on the Wii.Jdog30you have balls of steel. i wouldn't even dare to say that... put up your flame sheild. IMO the best fps is probably going to be MOHH2... noting the fact that there isn't that many FPS's on the wii. i think i can name em all.
I would say that fighters and RPGs are both equally under-represented, but I'm very hesitant to even try a traditional fighter on the Wii. I think I'll stick with my PS3 for fighters, but I can honestly say that I would purchase any above par RPG if one were to be released on the Wii.
With ToS2, ARF, new Tales of, Fragile coming out next year, RPG isn't the biggest problem. Right now FPS needs more love. RTS isn't traditionally big on consoles, so eventual stuff like Pikmin and Little King Story will be enough.Wintry_Flutist
yep, and with NIS (makers of Disgaea) saying in an interview that they will be supporting Nintendo's console
just take a look at the DS, at first the DS barely had RPGs but now, its flooded with it (not that its a bad thing)
I came into this thread intending to say RPG's but RTS's have been so under-represented I can't even think of one. Little King's Story in the future but that's it.firefox59
theres also Overlord, Pikmin that Wii Ware game and Spore Creatures(to some extent)hopefully, this will encourage game companies to put more RTS games on the WII, Blizzard FTW!
FPS
It's not that i want the wii to be overflowed with them like the Xbox 360, it's just that it doesn't have enough
Like every Nintendo console after the SNES, RPG's are under-represented. The N64, GC, and Wii combined don't have the amount of RPG's that system had.
And when ones like Tale of Symphonia are so hyped, it shows.
Fighters. We've got Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core and a few SNK compilations on the way, but I want some Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter, and original SNK fighters.famicommander
Im not sure about that, since the Wii's control scheme would be difficult for non weapon-based fighting games, although that might change when Motion Plus comes. Here's hoping for a new fighting game in the vein of Soul Calibur and Samurai Showdown when Motion Plus arrives
Racing/Driving!!! Like there Mario Kart but what else?
The rest are mediocre... Excite Truck, NFS: Carbon, Prostreet, Speed Racer and GT Pro Series.
I'm a huge Racing fan and the Wii isn't giving me anything.
RPG's currently on Wii- Baroque, Chocobo's Dungeon 3, Dragon Quest Swords, Opoona, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Super Paper Mario, Dog Island,
RPG's on VC-Breath of Fire II, Paper Mario, Harvest Moon, Shining in the Darkness, Sword of Vermillion, Phantasy Star II and III, Dungeon Explorer,
That's 15 RPG's, and even I've only played 8 of them. I don't know what rock you live under, but I would love to learn how to beat a new RPG in only a month and a half. You guys are beasts.

It's all opinion of course, but most of those RPG's for the Wii itself are average or worse.
And Virtual Console shouldn't really count. Those games were part of lineups in the past.

I always though Marvel was a beatemup/dungeon crawler. Sure you can level up your character n soforth but the emphasis is almost purely on action, not menu digging and micromanagement which are the 2 main characteristics that I use to identify an RPG.

I just beat the 360 game and am watching my sister try to figure it out. This is my most appropriate post reading ever. I agree with you 100% too. I'd even settle for a port of the PSP title if they change its name to Wii Heart Katamari.
