I was going to say RPG, but then I realized that most RPGs on the 3DS haven't been localized yet. :|
I would like to see more open-world action adventure games.
Localized RPGs... ^__________^
I'd like more strategy games mostly though. Turn based or otherwise. Civilization would be great on the 3DS, as would other RTS titles. It baffles me as to why the strategy genre was largley ignored on the DS.
RPGs.
I like to pretend that there aren't (m)any since crew's are still rabidly making them as we speak, perfecting them since the 3DS was released.
I should take a breath though.
I'd like to see more point and click adventures, a genre that could take off again with touch screen and 3D.
I'm still playing Secret Files 2 on the DSXL.
An open world action/adventure would be fun.
I say RPGs. I'd like to see Bravely Default come over. I think we're getting Unchained Blades, could be wrong on that. Definitely would like to see some established series like Dragon Quest. But right now I think the thing I most want to see is original RPGs like Bravely Default.
Lots of people here saying RPGs, I'd like more Simulation games.OceansBloom
The only Simulation game I'd care for is Animal Crossing. It's announced but not much has been said about it. Overall I feel like the simulation genre is a bit limited in terms of the experiences it can offer.

Your absolutely right! I have always been amazed that there werent more efforts to put games like Civilization, X-Com, and RTS game on the DS or now the 3DS. The console is perfect for them. Same thing with the point and click adventures. I know there were a few of them on the DS, but the console would be a great place for them to release collections of old classics. Imagine Kings Quest, Monkey Island, Sam & Max, The Dig, Full Throttle, Hand of Fate on the 3DS. I realize that they are releasing Myst on the 3DS (or maybe its already out). But come on, the original Myst is almost 20 years old and they are adding nothing new to it and selling it for $40. You should get a whole collection of these games for $40. Heck, they could release them on the e-shop for $5 each and I would pay it. I think they are really missing the boat on this one.
I'd like to see more (and better) games along the lines of Heroes of Ruin.

I want to see ALL future 3DS online games to implement the features that Heroes of Ruin used. Whether you love or hate Heroes of Ruin, it was great that the game was released. It shows what the system can and SHOULD do.
Another Professor Layton game should boose the sales for the 3DS.
But also I keep thinking that Conker's Bad Fur Day might make a good port game if it was released for the 3DS
A realistic Rally racing game like the Dirt games.
A realistic street racing game like Grid.
Some really good action games like the old Contra style games
a really good top down Diablo style game ( Hero's of Ruin is not )
and great top or side scrolling shooter like R-TYPE, Gradius, etc.....
realistic sports games WITHOUT Mario....golf, tennis, ice hocky, basketball, baseball, pool,
