I gotta say brawl. More and bettercharacters. Abigger single player experience. Online is good, but they should have made it differently. Me and my friends think it's better than melee. My only complaint is that the some characterssmash ball moves are too powerful, likethe Starfox characters. I got seven kills or something with one tank. Well what do you guys think? Brawl or Melee?

P.S. Don't say Melee just because Roy and Mewtwo were in it. Two people don't make the entire game amazing.

What do you mean by better gameplay? They both feel the same to me besides the super smashmove.

Brawl is a downgrade over Melee in every single way but the soundtrack

The controls are NERF'ed, moves were removed, the additions to the game were poorly implemented and felt tacked on, the multiplayer was broken

You can go on and on with the problems the game has

Brawl tried to be the definitive Smash Bros game but it's more of the "what not to do when making a Smash Bros game" instead

Well of course if youre talking about NOW, Brawl is better,

But think back of when you JUST got Melee, I felt happier playing that than brawl.

When i rentedmelee many years ago i liked it so i bought it. I didn't have the same excitement as first playing brawl. I'm always excited for a sequal to a great game. To me the excitement made it better i guess. idk

Once again Jason is compltely right. I thought it was like playing melee with broken controls, online that takes five minutes for one on the clock to go by and the new characters had broken moves.

Hazaah! Another Brawl or Melee topic! Melee is better than brawl. It had more balanced characters, less broken moves, a better Final Destination, and a better single player mode. Oh yea, I went there. :P The only thing Brawl has over Melee is online play.

I have to agree. I have always thought melee was very fun but for some reason I just felt like brawl is kind of boring and has something missing

I am going to have to say Brawl. I liked the new stages and characters. I think the event mode was way better in melee though. They both have there ups and downs but I am going with Brawl.

Brawl is better. I think Brawl gets too much hate from people who like to play Smash Bros without items and on plain stages (the so-called pros), I don't care for special techniques (bugs) that have been removed or ultra fast gameplay that allows for massive combos. I had more fun with Brawl than I had with Melee and that is all that I care for. :)

Brawl, no exact clones, more characters, more maps, online play and SSE. Yes SSE is still excellent in my opion and way better then melee's adventure modes. Also brawl every modes is co-op, and better graphics.

I personally think that the characters in Brawl were more balanced, and almost everything was supersized and improved. Melee had its moments too but overall Brawl was better.

Ha. Super Smash Bros Melee doesn't even have an adventure mode. Subspace Emissary is awesome,I don't get why people dislike so much.

Why are Sonic and Snake selling points? They are terrible. I would rather have more clones then them.

To you he is. For me he is the level of Ice Climbers and Jigglypuff. 2nd best is Link in my eyes.

That's what I thought at first too. But if you actually switch back and forth between Melee and Brawl you notice a lot of little gameplay changes that affect the overall pacing of the fight. Brawl is more casual friendly, though it does have competitive potential. Melee is a lot more technical and more consequences for screwing up.

My friends' that love Super Smash Bros. have different opinions. Most say Melee though, but it's around 50/50.

I say neither because I hate the games.

And that's the beauty of it. If someone isn't smart enough to turn themselves around while doing their recovery then good for them if they die facing the wrong way.

For strait up competitive play melee is better as it is more balanced, but I like the story mode in brawl better and had a lot more fun with it plying co op with my friends and family. If they had just not made metaknight the end all by a mile brawl would be much more balanced. And the level maker option is a blast.

When in the mood to get some Smash Bros. action I never hesitate to put in Brawl. I've loved these games since the day the original released, but Brawl is overall the best package. You get everything Melee has to offer and much more. Not to mention the game's in 16:9 which makes for a much better experience for this type of game. Then there's custom stages, good online(with friends), great stages, awesome music, and tons of stuff to unlock. It's the ultimate Nintendo nerd game.

I enjoyed Melee much more than I did Brawl. I admit Brawl is by far a better game because it has improved controls, graphics, more characters, and features online play. But Melee was a better game for it's time. Brawl is just an improved version of Melee.

Brawl hands down for me. I just love the increase in variety of different game modes you can play in. There's more challenges, boss battles, etc. Melee just seems a bit old-school for me.

Being a competitive smasher, I find Melee to be much better. I won't enter in detail, considering that most of the people here don't know anything about competitive play, no offense, or anything.

It does has some missing elemints from Melee & original, but Brawl is better it actually has a plot.
