Galaxy broke through the ceiling that's been holding platformers back for years. Many thought that the genre was going to slowly die off and Galaxy came out and raised the bar yet again.
You really can't compare either Mario game, each one is outstanding set the bar

well if super mario world was in there I woulda voted for it, but since I've not played brawl, and I love galaxy more now since I was too young to care about the impact smb3 had on gaming... I vote galaxy
Galaxy is in my opinion the best game for the Wii. I think Brawl isn't as good as Melee. Mario Bros 3? You are kidding, right? It may be fun and be a classic, but Galaxy is way better.
Dude, don't throw Brawl (a fighter) with SMB3 and Galaxy (2 platformers). The poll would have made more sense if instead of Brawl you put Super Mario World.

Wrong, they are being asked what game they think is best in their opinion. In other words the game they like the most so you can't say they're wrong because it is their opinion. As for "barely above average" you're wrong, simple as that. ;) You are the minority who feel the game isn't good and as we all now the minorities opinion means very little in reality. I'm paraphrasing but weren't your words along the lines of, "It is a game that a lot of people actually like and if you acutally did your research you would know that". Perhaps you should start taking your own advice because quite simply people love Brawl and there is nothing you can do to stop that. :P Btw, I don't think we can take your opinion of Brawl too seriously given your pessimistic opinions of it before it was even released. If you want something to be a bad experience for you then it will be bad but it takes actual effort to try and enjoy something. ;)
I'm picking Mario Bros 3. I think it's the greatest Mario game of all time. It was... I dare say it... without flaw. SMG did have some minor flaws, not that it wasn't revolutionary in itself. Ex: First platformer game with gravity effects. Still, gotta go with the old school flawless Super Mario bros 3.

Couldn't be more wrong. I got every star in Galaxy and I've beaten SMB3 on numerous occasions so try again. ;)

Same here, i voted for Brawl and i have gotten every star in Galaxy, and played through SMB3.
Ah brawl was alright, but the campaign was repetitive and now there's way too many characters. They should have kept it simple. Mario 3's got my votecamelgod
R u kidding me? Super Mario Bros 3 is the greatest game of all time next to Zelda Ocarina of Time. Brawl is heavily flawed on the Subspace and online, and Mario Galaxy, while still fantastic and revolutionary, doesn't quite surpass the legendary Super Mario Bros 3.
