resident evil 4 because even metroid fans gotta say that theres nothing like the feeling of a room full of deranged spaniards and are low on ammo compared to by yourself with an assortment of weapons with more than enough ammo and the enemies die easily. Metroid is bleh compared to it
I'd go for Metroid, Its longer and its pretty to look at, not to mention a blast to play, RE4 is also an amazing game at Bargain Price, so there is a great reason to go for RE4, I think RE4 is the better game, but If you have already beat it on another platform, I'd get Metroid Prime 3 first, then RE4 later

psh whatever metroid isnt that great of a game compared to resident evil. Its just way to different.
if you're comparing re4 to mp3, re4 wins. hands down. I bought the GC RE4 the day it came out (im a huge res evil fan) and am still not bored with it, especially after buying the wii version. I was a fan of metroid prime 1 (and a bit of 2 i suppose). but 3 completely let me down. i bought it without a thought because i was expecting the quality of metroid prime 1 + 2, which i loved, but 3 felt far too... mainstream. they added far too many cutscenes, meaningless characters, and halo-esque moment that just ruined the game for me. one time when i got together with my mates, we played an hour of metroid and counted the moments/ideas "ripped off" from halo. we counted to 3 dozen. metroid prime games hardly had any cutscenes are were about exploration... all alone. mp3 has you running after your ex-friends and stealing their powerups. big deal.

yeah mp1 was a decent game for that time never played 2 but i could tell it wasnt all that great compared to the 1st. MP3 was alright but it just felt to easy to play. Resident evil is just a much better game, you gotta be blind not to see the difference.

Anyway...I love both Metroid and RE. Between RE4 and MP3, I couldn't really choose a clear favorite. Both games belong in everyone's collection imo.
Resident Evil 4 is less puzzling. It's way more "i take my good old gun and wreck Zombies to HELL" as Metroid is more RPG style, it feels more like a "role" and the ennemies are less treatening. But you get EPIC boss fight!
I prefer Resident Evil 4 for the Wii, and it's the best rated Wii game on Gamespot i think. Oh and it's like 30$!!
Myself i would choose Resident Evil 4, the reason being i am a fan or the series of games and so it is a little bias. And at the bargan price it is hard to beat till metriod comes down if you dont mind waiting i tell people to wait and beat down some more zombies, or etc in RE

I've played both and I enjoyed Resident Evil 4 more than Metroid Prime 3. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition has some nice extras in it. Game difficulty is a huge factor to me and that's one thing Metroid Prime lacks. Even on the harder difficulties Metroid was far too easy. Which brings me to another point I hate having to unlock harder difficulties, there is no reason why those can't be unlocked right of the bat.
Metroid Prime 3 is an awesome game, but overall Resident Evil4 is superior. If you don't mind the fact that it's a GameCube game, you'll find that RE4 is a classic.
