its not really fair using the karts against the bikes, the bikes are much faster, especially since you could do the wheelie and gain an extra boost. When playing against the computer you could still use the karts and win the race, but when playing with one or more other people I would definately use one of the bikes.
Uum... ide haft 2 say Karts. Motorcycles cant power slide verry well. ( I awalys screw up when i try 2! ) But i think Chazasul is right "Depends entirely on the track." So either 1 is fine!
Karts have nothing on bikes. Karts have an extra powerslide boost but if the curve is long enough to get the extra boost, then you could probably get two drift boosts out of it with a bike. The wheelie ability of bikes makes them much better than karts IMO.
i go with Karts, but I only use the larger ones, especially Waluigi's kart. I'm a pretty aggressive driver, and tend to just smash into everyone on the track. It's extra fun when smashing into those little bikes. I win pretty often, and almost always finish in the top 3. My VR is over 8500, so I would say that anyone can be good with any kart/bike, as long as they know what they're doing.
Motorbikes are better on most tracks, although I find myself using karts more on tracks with a lot of corners such as SNES Super Mario Circuit 3, because you can use the kart's double drift works very well with all those turns.
Small bikes can be very tricky on the more advanced tracks such as Rainbow Road as well, as bumping into a heavier machine will get you knocked off the track easily, but this also goes for small karts to an extent.
