As the forums for the How is Ocarina of Time better than Twilight Princess?is going hot right now i thought i would ask the question, which is better: Wind Waker or Twilight Princess?

For me i enjoyed TP more bc it was longer and therealistic graphics is much better than the cell shapedWW. I found WW to be a little dissapointing as ther were only 5 real temples and the sidequests and sailing were very tedious. For me i would give TP a 9.5 and a 9 for WW.

WW hands down. I had way more fun playing WW then TP. I had to force myself to finish playing TP. TP really doesn't do anything new for the Zelda franchise it's pretty much OoT 1.5. WW on the other hand was something complete new.

I prefer The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker more. It's more challenging and the designs are great. The new cel-shading does not irritate me. The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess is not as good as I thought. Sometimes I say it is overrated, but not that much.

Windwaker because I became more immersed in it. I enjoyed TP, but not as much as WW. I have played WW more times as well (only played TP the first playthrough :?)

TP, although it was easy, WW was even easier which pissed me of more and also I liked the visuals but it made the Zelda game seem like a kids game and less like an epic adventure. Although they were nice I prefer TP style, also well sailing was fun but I prefer riding my horsey and finally TP was A LOT longer which I liked and kust seemed more epic even it is was the same old thing we saw in OOT. Nothing against WW but TP was to me was a true Zelda game and overall better.

I agree. Wind Waker had a unique theme that it fit in well for the most part. Twilight Princess had a very familiar theme and it tried too hard to justify it's direction gameplay and story wise.

Wind Waker. I liked the story better because it was a direct continuation of OoT.

As much as i love WW Twilight Princess is the best game i've played in my life, its excellent in every single way, the thing that takes some points from WW is the constant use of the wind waker, also all the sailing and the last fetch quest  but they're both incredible

TP is the obvious choice. imo windwaker was a horrible excuse for a zelda game. i will encounter the problems i got throughout the game.

1. cell shaded graphics (though i did grow to like them throughout the game)

2. i have to sail for more than 10 minutes to get to my destination

3. sailing ruins the adventurous feel of zelda games. it was clear that nintendo was too lazy to make actual terrain with different monsters.

4. aiming is done horrible, especially with the cannon

5. dungeons are way too easy, i mean like 3 year olds can do them

6. the last couple of dungeons are escort missions

7. the force u to goon a fetch quest for 16 items (8 maps, 8 triforce shard)

8. they force you to pay like 4000 rupees to get all the maps translated

9. minigames are boring

10. bosses are easy.

there you go, 10 problems i had with this zelda game. ive never had more than 3 problems with a zelda game.

Well, it would be more fair to judge if they had come out at the same time but I'll go with the Wind Waker. The music was memorable, the dungeons were fun, and the art style was flawless and did a good job of hiding the ugly textures from which TP so badly suffered.

I played through The Wind Waker and enjoyed (almost) every minute. Twilight Princesson the other hand had me forcing myself to play on a number of occasions.

This is just my opinion, and I was never a hardcore Zelda fan, but there's no doubt in my mind that Windwaker is better. I couldn't even bring myself to beat Twilight Princess; I got to the entrace of the water temple and just quit playing because I wasn't enthralled with the game at all. Meanwhile, with Windwaker, I've beaten it a couple times and it stilll captures me. I love the light-hearted graphics and the ocean in Windwaker, and nothing in Twilight Princess could compare.

WW was better. It had a better story, and i didn't like how in TP you didn't have a musical instrument thing like in previous games. And blowing on the grass and howling as a wolf dosent count.

I cant decide, WW it´s great WW´s hyrule it´s pretty well done, you fell dwelt in it ... because the graphics, the sea, and even if the city it's pretty small, every character has their personality and a lot of them give you sidequests I love taking pictures to thing and the having the on a sculture colletion, i like the sealing and tresure hunting part and there are a lot on islands to explore with secret caves. like the ending, the final battle it´s great, i loved the deku leave The temples are well done, but not that great, much of you maybe feel like "out of the action" with the collecting the charts map ( even if i liked "going out of the action" ), aiming its hard TP, It has really well made temples, i like part of the bosses, like the one in the water temple, a lot of locations and esenarios, yo go from the desert to the city undergound, going to mountains, a lake, etc. the minigames are cool and there are a lot, fishing is great, really long adventure and epic with a lot of items and enemies, waving the wiimote and aming it´s cool and easy, horseraiding and the horse figths are also great, liked the begining Big hyrule city but not to much to talk to, there almost none secret caves, im still waiting for a horse race, after you beat it ... theres no much to do maybe, fishing, a few of hearts container ( i don´t use the fortune teller) and the poes :S

Definitely Wink Waker. I enjoyed playing it 10 times more than TP. Heck, I got so bored with TP, it was torture playing it. The only thing I liked better about TP more than WW was the final battle.

Both are excellent games. If you don't mind the celshaded graphics and the boating from island to island, WW is on par with all the Zelda games.

The controls are smooth and the gameplay is just as rich as OoT (I'm going to hear it for that comment!).

I'm glad to hear the strong support for WW, I really enjoyed playing it also.

I personally don't like comparing Zelda to determine which game is better as they all have their unique quirks. Every Zelda game has its plus and minuses, I just like to hear what people like about each game.

WINDWAKER all the way. it lets you rleax within the game with plenty of exploring and quests that you can do instead of always being on the move and fighting like in twilight princess. for some reason, that game is extremely dark. windwaker is a lot more happier and fun.

Wow i am incredibly suprised to see how many people rate WW over TP but i respect their opinions none the less. I know TP wasnt perfect but i think another reason why i rate it so high is bc it ws only the second zelda game that i had played, the first being Oot. Something that i forgot to mention at the top was my complete disgust of the cell shaped graphics. If Nintendo hadnt made the graphics look so kiddy then i might have bought a gamecube to get this game, instead i waited for the wii to play this game and was still dissapointed. A zelda game should not get less then a 9/10 in my books

I prefer TP. They were both disappointing IMO, although still great. Wind Waker though, was a lot shorter, it was easier, overall (even easier than TP), and didn't really offer anything new besides the art s-tyle, which was great, but also blurry a lot of time.

Either way, I hope that they change the series up with the Wii.

I forced myself to play WW. I didint really enjoy it. The sailing was boring as hell. The graphics were nice, but at the same time sicking. Im not very found of kid link therefore I didint enjoy it so much also. I also hated how you had to get the triforce. MY GOD THAT HAD TO BE THE MOST PAINFULL GAMING MOMENT FOR ME EVER! Also I didint like the character design. TP IMO had a way better character design. I enjoyed ever minute of TP.

Wind Waker had some huge problems, like too much sailing and the Triforce shards quest, but I still enjoyed it more than Twilight Princess. WW has more of a mystic or fantastic feel than TP. It's not something I can really describe. Let's just say my inner child (the one with a limitless imagination) was much more in tune with WW.

TP. When WW first came out,I bought it right away and was fairy disappointed. It took me a long time to finish because I would get bored and put in another game. I didn't stop playing TP untilI beat it.

Horse Riding > Riding a boat

Mysteriouswater-buried Hyrule > Bland Hyrule

TP Dungeons > WW Dungeons

WW Graphics > TP Graphics (look like mud in some places)

WW Story > TP Story (Barely any Ganon and Zelda)

WW Last fight (sword in head) > TP Last fight (sword in side)

TP is an excellent game but WW is superior because of its STYLE

Think I liked Wind Waker more, though I can only play through a Zelda title once. All the intrigue of the puzzles is gone once you've solved them.

I definitly like Twilight Princess more. I love wind waker but it felt like i was working as i was playing. The sailing BY FAR was the most tedious thing to do ever. Finding all those damn towers in the middle of the open ocean pissed my off too. the graphics never annoyed me. it was new and fresh.

For me, this isn't even close. At the end of the day, Wind Waker just felt like a more original and refreshing experience than Twilight Princess. It wasn't a perfect game, but when I was finished with the game, I did feel that it tried to stand on its own feet. With TP, I just felt that it stuck so close to what OoT did to the point where the game wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. On top of that, I think Wind Waker had a much better balance. Granted, the main adventure wasn't as tough as many of the Zelda faithful would have liked, but it did everything else very well. The game offered a great amount of memorable side-quests anda cast of characters that you could care about. I don't really remember either in TP that well. Even thoughlife was more "realistic" in TP, everything in Wind Waker just had a great deal of life to it. Part of that has to be because of the cel-shaded style.

Don't get me wrong, though. TP is still an enjoyable game, but when it comes to the overall Zelda experience, I just think Wind Waker is more fun. From the awesome cutscenes to the laugh-out-loud battles, there's hardly a moment where you're playing the game where you can't find yourself with a smile on your face. There were times when I was playing Twilight Princess where I found myself just "going with the motions. Plus, I can do without that annoying Midna. :P
